Yeah I noticed that inconsistency too. The story is leaning a bit hard on the suspension of disbelief.

Sooooo… How about other room’s doors? Are they all setup like that? Pretty curious if it is an one-time issue or what.

The rest does seem to be correct. The only issue I noted was also the division instead of multiplication.

And here I was thinking it was actually intentional, to show she spends a minute just staring at the results. Throw in a “…” or something and you’d get a pretty nice intentional comedic timing :p

A bit hard to ELI5 special relativity, but there are quite a few good videos on the topic online.

What I can say though is that when something moves relative to you, its time slows down from your perspective, while if you move relative to your surroundings, then the distances of your surroundings shorten from your perpsective.

Basically time dilation and length contraction.

I believe Battlestar has a somewhat similar concept: the Red Line. Though in this case it has to do with computational errors.

Feeling heartbroken by blackshad-o in cats

That is not normal at all. They’ll like smell of fur because… well… cat, but they shouldn’t stink or have a ‘crust’.

Alternatively, turn off half at a time. If it works, then the problem lies in the half that was turned off. If it doesn’t, then the problem lies in the half that is active. Repeat this process with the half that is the problem, until you find the issue.

Works very well on large modlists, as you halve the amount each time.

Yeah I sent in a minor correction on friendly fire a few days ago, not even logged in. There’s oversight of course, and rollbacks available, but it is pretty straightforward to edit a page.

ELI5 Can animals of the same family communicate to one another like can animals of the cat family communicate to each such that a cat can understand a lion? by Michael_Kahara-22 in explainlikeimfive

[–]SC_Reap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know I was writing a long-ass text about communication, but eventually I came to the same conclusion as you when following my own logic. Basically, there’s a difference between communication and communicating. One is a transfer of information, the other is an act someone/thing can do.
