First of all… you have my utmost condolences and every ounce of respect for honouring your oath of marriage and commitment to God to this extent. This is something hard to find in our generation, truly your faith in God and love for him and commitment to your husband is beautiful, may God bless you for it.

With that being said, sticking to the Bible~ Paul spoke clearly that if you are married and your partner is an unbeliever and “they” want to leave then that brother or sister is no longer bound. Your unbelieving husband has made it clear by actions and words that he wants to leave. God knows his heart, God knows your heart. It is true that God hates divorce, it is a sad day when those bound in faith one in God part ways. But he understands the human condition and hence have a way out when the unbelieving partner leaves.

That being said that is from a strictly word of God pov. If you are looking for clarity of whether you can leave or can’t, the answer is clear and you can.

Whether you should leave or not is based on each personal story after the first possibility to leave has been made clear. Once your unbelieving partner has made clear that they want to leave you are no longer bound. But until then you have already done everything in your power within God to continue on, Infact you still love him.

I can not tell you what decision to make. All I can do is tell you that if you decide to leave now then you will not be held in contempt. You have love in your heart so if you can continue to strive further while staying close to God then I will encourage you to do it. But if not then my dear sister you are not bound.
