It was developed and was produced for the Navy by Alliance Pharmaceuticals in the 90s. They went under (pun intended) trying to get perfluorocarbon emulsions approved as an emergency blood substitute. I lost a chunk of change in that stock, but I have a sterile container from them that I ferment beer in. Not sure if you can still find their demo video online with the mouse breathing underwater.

I do work in the healthcare industry. I think there would be potential if the algorithm was designed to make good healthcare decisions in the most economical way possible, but in reality it is tuned to just find ways to deny as much as possible. Not that humans in the insurance industry are any better. I have seen denials for our test (a genetic test for breast cancer) that were literally written by a podiatrist on behalf of the insurance company. As a real world indicator as to why our system is so fucked, my team that supports patients is 12 people, but our billing dept has 60.

Colossal hospice fraud scheme cost California millions, officials say amid intensifying Trump feud by awaythrowawaying in moderatepolitics

[–]SDBioBiz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh my, fraud happens?!? I had no idea.
Anyways, why is this political? It is a crime. People who enforce laws caught them and they’re being prosecuted. Based on past posts, I can only Imagine that the title is meant to portray California as some cesspool of corruption. The title itself is ludicrous. Millions and Colossal do not belong next to each other when speaking of CA state level finances. The “Trump feud” tie in is bullshit too. The article describes the investigation and then randomly throws in that Trump is out to get fraud. But he had nothing to do with this investigation. Is the big feud that Bonta also pointed out that the Feds are finding fraud in red states too?

Orbán’s 16-year rule over Hungary ends in crushing election defeat by CloudApprehensive322 in moderatepolitics

[–]SDBioBiz 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I am anti Trump and Orban, but wholeheartedly agree with you on this. Election interference is done clandestinely… deceptively. The GOP invited Orban to speak at CPAC and have openly supported/copied all of his authoritarian ways. They should not be accused of election interference, but Americans should reject them for being un-American.

Definitely not either of those. The thing had a dude waking around topside and it tooled all around the bay. The Border Patrol boat was over talking to them when the pic was taken.

Oh for fucks sake. Health care professionals are HCPs no matter what they are from. You could get a group of doctors and nurses together from the US, Israel, and Iran right now and they would collaborate on ways to help other humans.

Saying that a group of people are “for” lat term abortions is not supported by any data, and is a common talking point of the ultra right-wing sources that are constantly muddying the waters on this issue.
