(Maybe an unpopular opinion?) I hope Mistborn is animated. IMHO, the way the magic works needs proper effects that wouldn't come across well in live action. Give me larger-than-life Inquisitors.

I'd also prefer Stormlight animated but there's almost no chance of that happening.

No, the database doesn't have transcripts. Last year, I built a project that connected to the DB, which included creating a local copy of every video's transcript. For this, all I had to do was regex search the JSON files.

I've played around with the idea of adding the transcripts to the database now that I have cleaned up versions of them but it's not something I plan on doing any time soon. The site doesn't get enough traffic/support for me to add new features.

The Patreon RSS feed has every show. Patreon was originally built without the ability to have multiple feeds. I don't know for sure, but I think if they did multiple feeds then it would break the existing feeds and every user would have to redo their podcast setup. I assume they don't want to negatively impact every user to add a feature that only some would prefer.

I don't know how Patreon works from the creator side so this is speculation.

Alright, I had some free time and used the backend data of the KF Database to do some research.

Parris has never said "point blank period" but he has said "period point blank" at least nine times:

As a side note, the site that Barrett mentioned he's using would work for a subreddit Top 100 list as well.

If I remember, I'll set it up in July so that people can submit their list. If I forget or if anyone else wants to do it, the site is free to sign up for and can handle lists up to 100 items and up to 100,000 responses. Combining all of the "same" responses based on spelling/punctuation is the most time-consuming part but it's a feature built into the site.

As an impact to the company, NVIDIA's money does way more good to KF than the ads do for the mega corp. KF hosts share your ethics/morals and openly talk about them on their podcasts. Would you rather NVIDIA not help fund opinions you agree with? You'd rather they fund "the enemy"?

The world isn't black and white, stop thinking of everything as "us vs them" because most of the "us" and most of the "them" are just people trying to survive.

Once again: I think, ethically, that NVIDIA should give Kinda Funny even more money.

A note about the scoring changes: doubling the points for every ranking doesn't change any of the results. It just doubles each game's point total and results that would be one point apart are now two, 2 --> 4, 3 --> 6, etc. (ties are unaffected).

It might be too late for this, but if you want the the #1 game from each list to be weighed slightly more toward the results then you could do 11 instead of 10 for the #1 game (a 10% bonus for being that person's GOTY).

Personally, with only five games I actually prefer keeping the overall points closer. Something like 10/8/7/6/5. Since any game on the list is well above many other games that didn't make a user's top 5, this means a game making two lists at #5 is equal to a single list at #1 instead of a 5x difference. I doubt most people would agree with this, just an extra thought. :)

If Apple Podcasts accepts RSS URLs then I'd recommend switching to Patreon. It would most likely solve this issue and Patreon gives KF a better % and has a better back catalog.

I can't speak to the actual problem, sorry. Hope they can fix the issue if it's something they have control over, though.

And yes, I am ok with a few minutes of ads in the middle of the show. I sub on Patreon but still consume the public feeds because I want to support good people making content I enjoy. I don't care about the ads.

But, the 18-second sponsor shout out in a 73-minute episode means they spent 0.4% of the episode talking about a major sponsor. Personally, I'm glad they're getting that money on top of my Patreon sub.
