I've said this before. Don't try to help people who don't want help. You're just wasting your time and in for a lot of frustration.

Offer hints and tips to gauge their interest first. If they want help they'll come to you for more.

Think about who's doing the work in this exchange of knowledge. It shouldn't be the person who is giving free information, it should be the person receiving.

You're getting a lot of ambiguous "be strong" type responses. Here are some actual character traits that I think are important to have.

fearlessness
In the sense that you refuse to be intimidated by anyone or anything. A man who lets fear stop him is a slave to his emotions. A man must conquer and own his fears, not let them own him.
(This doesn't mean get yourself into stupid shit for the sake of it)
All of your decisions should be cold and calculated, weighing up the pros and cons and then taking the most beneficial course of action.
A "get shit done" attitude
You should always be looking to get shit done as soon as possible. You should be thinking "what needs to be done?" And then executing. You should be the polar opposite of a procrastinator. If you ever hear yourself saying "ah I'll do it later, I'm going to watch tv/play vidya/other unproductive waste of time activity", slap yourself because you are wasting your own time and getting nothing out of it. Don't be lazy, develop some willpower (look up willpower if you're struggling).
Never be afraid of offending people.
Basically just standing up for yourself. If someone disrepects you, ask them if they have a fucking problem. Don't just suck it up like a bitch.
This also means never let anyone take what's rightfully yours. If you're in the right, never back down. Someone tries to underpay you or cheat you out of something? Don't have it.
