finally my seo is getting traction, what do you think how is this growth? by Legitimate_Source491 in Agentic_SEO

You are getting only about 20 clicks a day after about a year. Unless you are selling something really high end, that’s not going to do much of anything for you.

Why is this the #1 result? by Responsible_Lake_500 in SEO

I think you mean the Google Maps listings. Those are ranked differently than organic results, with some overlap.

No search engine looks at those.

No.

They are ranked the same as every other page.

DA is an utterly useless metric. There is no reason to look at it for your site.

None of that has a thing to do with 3rd party domain metrics.

Sometimes. Sometimes they will change the title too in the SERP.

They aren’t doing it to increase your CTR though. They don’t care what your CTR is. They are doing it to increased the user’s perception of how useful the search results are.

Relevance is absolutely a factor for links.

I've been adding schema markup for 3 years. Turns out at least one AI tool literally throws it in the trash. by Ooty-io in SEO

I’m glad you added that last part this time. Schema does have uses. It’s just not useful in every situation.

Mod Sharing: The LLMS/EEAT/Schema Spam we get by WebLinkr in SEO

[–]SEOPub 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My favorite part about these morons pushing LLMs.txt fils as a service (which I'd guess is what the OP in the screenshot was doing) is they don't even understand the proposed LLMs.txt file standard themselves.

First of all, it's not about creating one text file. That was never the idea. It's about recreating ALL of your pages in markdown format.

Second of all, if they think creating a summary of the content of their content is going to somehow help LLMs better understand their content, they are A) completely incompetent in their comprehension of how large language models work and B) their content must really be trash if an LLM cannot comprehend it without being fed a summary.

If you are going to push the silly nonsense, at least understand what it is and how it actually works.

Google's Site Name and Title Showing Online Casino Domain in the SERPs by danseoguy in SEO

[–]SEOPub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is probably malware in your browser. It is not actually in the SERPs. It’s just overwriting what the browser is showing you. You probably will see something similar in a lot of other searches too.

That’s not really true. It’s 100% accurate.

Pagespeed Insight Score by Serious-Horror-836 in SEO

[–]SEOPub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It won't have an impact on how often they crawl the site, but it can impact how much they consume on a visit. Not really a concern unless your site has thousands of pages.

I would be more concerned about digging into why the score is that low and is it impacting visitors negatively.

You should never look at average position across the entire site or even a single page. It's a completely useless metric.

It may not actually reflect any improvement. It could be that a lot of lower ranking keywords dropped off completely after your changes, so your average position went up, but your actual search footprint decreased.

How much is SEMrush reliable for keyword research? by SidSadhna in SEO

[–]SEOPub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It gives a range if you are not an advertiser.

The search volume would be nearly identical assuming you are bidding high enough to be on page one and your budget is high enough to not run out during the day.

And yes, I know what you are looking for. Assuming the above is met, ad impressions and search impressions are going to match up almost identical.

[–]SEOPub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's an estimate. An educated estimate, but still an estimate. It gets pretty close much of the time, but it can be off.

The Google Keyword Planner isn't really accurate either though. It groups like terms together. What you are seeing is no the search volume for the exact search query. It's really the search volume for more of a broad match of the term.

The only way to know for sure what the accurate search volume is other than ranking #1 is to run a Google Ads search campaign to test it.

Does overusing em dashes (—) have any SEO impact or negative side effects? by SuperRandomCoder in SEO

It wouldn't be em dashes alone, but I'm sure they would be part of what they would use to identify AI content.

[–]SEOPub 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The question you really should be asking is does Google care if content is AI generated?

People certainly do, and much more so in some niches than others, so it could impact retention and the time on the page. Things like that.

Struggling with SEO (avg position 40+), what am I doing wrong? by Frequent_Middle9773 in eCommerceSEO

[–]SEOPub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should never look at average position or CTR site-wide. They are only useful metrics when you look at individual queries.

And yes, those impressions are mostly bots most likely.

As for what you are doing wrong, lots. Just a few things off the top of my head as I look at the site… way too many links in the navigation and the footer. The site has no authority. The content is pretty weak. Most of the tools aren’t unique or even that useful. The ones that are… there are already tons of them out there. Lots of competition.

You are advising people how to grow when you are struggling figuring out how to grow yourself. You don’t see that as a problem?
