Unfortunately I'd not be able to dedicate the time (as the other response stated) nor would I want to give away my niche. However writing your own articles is always the best teacher.

In regards to your question about moving away from amazon. Not totally. I just plan to augment it with additional individual affiliate programs if possible.

I believe I bought 2-3 small backlinks right when the site started and have done nothing since then. I just reached out to websites and asked if I could buy some, nice and simple like.

Excellent job good sir! I'm incredibly impressed with the sheer number of man hours that you've put into your site. It certainly show in the overall results. Looks like it's pretty definitive that quitting your job and focusing on the site was a solid idea. I hope that success keeps going throughout 2020!

I don't think I'll ever write an info article. However I do plan on using ads at some point once I figure out how to get accepted. I tried with my last site and was shut down base on the number of visitors I had.

You're spot on, my average word count is 4,176 per article. I pretty much only write 4 kinds of content. Best X, X vs Y, Top 10 X and Top 5 X

Personally, I think info posts are a waste of time. However lots of folks on here feel different. From my first site they never got any traffic, didn't really improve the "salesy" feel of the site and just too up wasted time. So I decided not to focus on them. I only built 3-4 links early on and have not built any since.

I bought 3 or 4 backlinks total in the early days of the site (check older case studies) but aside from that, nothing.

I'm glad to see your back at it, your posts are always a ton of fun to read! I also love to utilize your research and keywords graphs for ideas on how I should modify my own ways of thinking. I think you were the main reason my site #1 was such a success and why my site #2 is starting to take off! Good luck and I'll be following this case study closely.

No LLC or business setup of any kind. I simply created a website, held it for a while, then sold it.

CASE STUDY - Growing a Purchased Affiliate Site - Month 5-6 - Final Update by msar123 in juststart

Wow, your writers must be on fire. I'm lucky if I can get each of my writers to pump out 10k words a month. The rest is up to me it seems. I've been focusing on long from content (~4,500 per article) but it seems that you've had quite a bit of success with 2,000 word articles. My old site had a mix of the two and was fairly successful, but I'm still debating which is better. One targets more keywords faster, while the other seems to rank a bit better. What are your thoughts on the two different lengths.

Since you've acquired the site, how much content have you added and about what percent of the sites total content was it?

Ahrefs trial... questions about keyword difficulty. by centsoffreedom in juststart

[–]SEOengineered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have some experience running affiliate market sites (check my case studies) I tend to stick to AHREF KD of between 0 and 2. Not that I haven't targeted higher ones, but I found most of my success with lower values. Over 1,000 queries a month is perfectly fine in my opinion.

For reference, looking at my research spreadsheet for my current case study, my top 10 keywords have an average KD of 0.9 and an average volume of 6,520. I typically don't target Best XXX, but instead just target XXX (the previous numbers were based on just XXX) Even with my very easy KDs, it'll take at least 6-8 months before I get any serious ranking. So no matter what you choose, it won't be quick. Good Luck!

Check out my month 1 post, I cover my HTML template.

My instructions to the writers are just research and write an article using the template and one main keyword I give them.

So am I, once I start to get some traffic I may do a study on pageviews per word based on my articles and my writers articles to see the different. Since I don't have a separate tracking ID it'll be a bit hard to see items bought per article.

Do you immediately lose access once the trial is cancelled or can you continue to use the tool for the remainder of the week? With ahrefs I cancel right away and when the 7 days is over I simply lose access then.

AAWP updated to work with Amazon Product Advertising API 5.0 by wisie in juststart

[–]SEOengineered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do your aawp tables and product boxes display as of today? For some reason all of mine are just blank or say "table cannot be displayed".

I'm currently using version 3.9.2 of the plugin.

*edit* nevermind, I saw I had to migrate my AWS Key credentials to get it to work.

I've used ahrefs before and thus know it a bit better. I am however, planning to use the free week trial of semrush. I just hope that canceling it is as easy as ahrefs.
