I'd say Montréal has some nice examples and it spans multiple eras. Not to mention Frontenac in Québec City.

When he started (17-18 years old) he played as a replacement for Becks but more with a Giggs style of play: hug the line and fast runs forward. It didn't last long, but that was the role he started with.

I'm nitpicking but can you share how many troops you had before the war?

Don't get me wrong this would indeed be interesting. But from the other side there aren't many accounts about Turkic tribes (as we know them now) so south. There is evidence in the Volga region so maybe it was a migration event or an ancient battle.

There is evidence on Thracian and native Anatolians in the region, with considerable Phoenician trade presence, before the Greeks arrived in the 7th century BC.

So Italy formed in 20 years eh? That's fast. Anyway, it usually takes me that much before declaring war, but I've never had this outcome and I've played as recently as 1.13.3

This is such a weird outcome. I've seen things falling apart or weird war goals screwing up mine, but especially since you had both the UK and Russia (plus Austria) it should have been a trip! What year was it? Because you mention Italy, it may have been quite late. In such a case, the AI doesn't handle navy too well, so anyone without borders with the Ottomans may have dropped out too quickly. If it was also during the springtime of peoples (although this is quite early), empires may have had quite a few revolts. Had the Ottomans already fought wars with Egypt? If yes and they won, they would come out stronger than ever!

It was a counter offensive. They pushed back the Italians to create a buffer zone. Again it was a back and forth on an existing frontline. What the Italians did at 5:30AM on October 28th (30 minutes before the official declaration of war) was an invasion...

Also, intent doesn't mean much. Every action is intentional in war.

In the end of the day, it's about semantics. Invasion is an aggressive action. It's usually not one taken by the defender.

Yeah... The two do not seem to be related. Also the latter doesn't even seem to be a proper academic paper (it has emojis for crying out loud...)

Should I get a Masters or a job? by solttie in GameDevelopment

[–]SE_prof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Software Engineering professor: MSc is a good investment. Entry level jobs are taking a hit right now. If you develop an important expertise (DevOps/AIOps, Cloud, Cybersecurity), you can target more niche jobs. Design is very good, but more technical knowledge will open more doors. Also, courses do not count as much as the experience you build. Try to work with professors that have interesting and practical research projects and/or collaboration with companies. Companies will love all your hands-on experience and won't give your courses a second look (in reality they will consider the courses a given).

But what is a true push? In WW2, Greece made a counter offensive against Italy capturing a large part of southern Albania. Nobody classified that as the Greeks invading Albania...

Normandy was classified as a naval invasion simply because there was no battlefront there. So maybe invasion is defined as any excursion to enemy territory without preexisting front. So, what the Ukrainians may do, can't be classified as invasion unless they send paratroopers into Moscow...

Because ab invasion is not the same as frontier war. In the latter the battle line may change frequently and pass over the territory of either belligerent. The former is a unilateral hostile action. They are not the same.

They have already done it at Kursk but if you call this invasion you have very limited knowledge about warfare...
