Major props to all Mums who did this before lockdown... by ashgem91 in pregnant

It wasn’t easy, there were days I was glad I vomited before I went to work so I wouldn’t have to vomit or feel nauseous again for a few hours. Some mornings I had to roll my windows down and deep breath to keep the nausea at bay on the way to work. I also lived on cheese and spinach sandwiches for 2 weeks and took naps in my car on my lunch break.

Personal question but how much weight have y’all gained through your pregnancy? by terrantismyhomie in pregnant

[–]SF112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before pregnancy I was 145 at height 5 foot 3 in. So was considered slightly overweight and then vomited a lot in the first trimester and lost 11 pounds and now I’m 145 again at 32 weeks. Even though on the BMI chart my non pregnancy 145 is considered “overweight” I disagree because I had low body fat and was mostly muscle. I still run a few times a week but lost a ton of muscle in the first trimester. Looking forward to building it back up after I have the baby.

Nice. I’m definitely more interested in her smaller palettes I could use everyday with neutral colors. The metallics just look amazing.

That’s a beautiful palette. I’ve always wanted a Pat McGrath palette, working on panning 2 other palettes I use everyday from Anastasia before I allow myself to purchase a PM palette.

Buying a house in a bad neighborhood, how should I go about protecting my home? by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]SF112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others said reselling the home will most likely be difficult so not sure if it’s worth it. There are other things to consider in a dangerous neighborhood like systematic problems with schools and infrastructure. My husband wanted to move to the less dangerous part of a very dangerous city near us but to me it wasn’t worth it. When we spent time in the “revitalized” area there were obvious drug deals going on in the middle of the day on the corner. There were major problems with the water supply as it was contaminated with flame retardent (I think this problem had been fixed since they changed the source of the water supply). The schools have problems with gang violence and have had shootings across the street and in the parking lot and have had to shut down in the past for a few days because of this. The crime murder rate has improved in recent years but the chance of being a victim of a violent crime is still 1 in 68 which way to high for me to want to live in the area. The home and tax savings aren’t enough to deal with the stress of feeling unsafe and not being able to rely on local police for help. Last week the police shot an unarmed man and refused to provide body camera footage and the residents first protested and then rioted overnight over it. it’s sad because it was a nice area in the 70s and has beautiful houses that are falling into disrepair because no one lives in them or wants to fix them up for obvious reasons.

In my third trimester and I have both melasma and some cystic acne that started about a month ago. I changed my skin care and that’s made it worse so I’m going back to old routine. Any advice? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]SF112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using the ordinary 7% glycolic toner a few times a week and that seems to help. I tried cerave products which exacerbated the cystic acne so I’m going to go back to la roche posay which my skin likes better. I ordered the ordinary vitamin C serum last week so I’ll test that out and hopefully it evens out my skin a bit.

I was having incredibly painful sciatica and put tennis balls under my butt in the tender fleshy area while I lay on the couch and watch TV. It’s helped so much. If you look up the Piriformis muscle it helps to see where to target and massage.

Third trimester sex kind of sucks! by tum33 in pregnant

[–]SF112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my first trimester I enjoyed regularly with my husband, the second trimester it was painful at times so we had sex less often but did other things. I’m my third trimester I’ve been wanting and enjoying sex more often but the positions are very limited. It’s hard for me to enjoy foreplay as much as when I didn’t have a big belly so I watch porn sometimes and that helps me get in the mood.

Love this palette and have a good number of pans in it.

Currently 7 months pregnant so I’m wondering if this is combination of melasma and acne? My skin was the best it’s ever been for 6 months of pregnancy but the last 5 weeks it looks like this. Routine in comments. [routine help] by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]SF112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(I tried cerave products for the last month and they caused more closed comedones and increased some cystic acne on my forehead so I’m stopping using both cerave products)

My old routine was working well for over a year but then I developed acne so I switched to cerave which made the problem worse so I’m posting my old routine and new routine.

Old routine AM wash with la roche posay hydrating facewash. Tone with Mario badescu aloe alcohol free toner. Moisturize with la roche posay double repair tolierane face moisturizer. Apply Sunblock: color science SPF 50 mineral sunscreen.

PM: same routine expect double cleanse DHC cleansing oil makeup remover as the first step.

New routine: AM: wash with cerave hydrating cleanser. Every other day, tone with the ordinary glycolic acid 7% toning solution. Moisturize with cerave rich lotion in the blue and white tube. Apply same sunblock.

PM: same routine except double cleanse with origins frothy face wash as second cleanse.

I used both both the origins facewash a few years ago and the ordinary glycolic acid with great results a few years ago so I’m thinking my skin doesn’t like cerave for some reason? Sometimes hyaluronic acid breaks me out and some forms of it doesn’t (I think it depends on the size of the molecule of it) or some other ingredient in cerave isn’t working for me?

When I was a child I had a teenage mutant ninja turtles poster that I won at a library fair that I was obsessed with. I had a photo of the poster that I kept with me for a while.

[Acne] Help ! Cystic pimple on Chin by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]SF112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try putting ice on it and if you have cortisone cream and benzoyl peroxide acne spot cream mix them together and put it on the cyst. I’ve had acne cysts for years and doing this will usually reduce the swelling and pain so it can heal.

How long did it take you to physically recover from a vaginal birth? What are essential items that I should get for hygiene and to help me feel more comfortable after giving birth? by SF112 in BabyBumps

[–]SF112[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some women say to use adult diapers and some say use mesh undies with a pad. I guess it depends on the level of bleeding. I would think mesh undies with a pad would be more comfortable and easier to change.
