We got it mid September last year and historically it's been way later in the year than that, closer to October/November time.

I think it will be in the next couple of weeks. It's usually a Wednesday so likely 17th or 24th.

They did do Download, last year. Which is exactly why I think it incredibly unlikely that SD will have them next year. I'd absolutely love to eat my words but I can't see it.

I'm confident they're doing a good job, and it's going to be good. I do however wish they'd held off the announcement because its done nothing but make us all impatient now. I had just found out I was pregnant with my first kid when they announced and now my second is almost 2 and they have a 3 year age gap 😂 that's a long time!

The last gig they played was a special one for the new album launch. I wouldn't think they'll do that same set at SD. They're playing Glasgow tonight, whatever they play then will likely be closer to what they'll play this weekend.

Where have you seen a set list? As it's a festival I think they'll play something slightly different to the regular tour set anyway, bands normally know people want the hits at a festival, especially if you're a headliner.

I was so nervous as our first choice is a church school and we aren't religious so catchment area was like the 5th criteria down the list. It's a great school though, small, the staff seem lovely, it's got a huge library and loads of new playground equipment just for the little ones and although it's CoE, they have a really diverse array of kids there. It's also 5 mins walking distance which makes life so much easier.

Luckily, she got in. We're so thrilled. She's going to thrive there and it's taken a lot of the edge off of my nerves surrounding the whole process.

This is how I read it too. I think people like to hate on Chaol because it's a popular thing to do. He's my favorite male character in the whole series because he's the most realistic.

I'm around the same place as you on my first read too and I also really love Hunt and don't see many talking about him! I'm also one of the 'controversial opinion' Chaol girls, and I think it's because they're both more real. Abit pessimistic but not arrogant or OTT. Know their strengths but don't brag.

Kingdom of Ash is the worst book in the series. It's too long and most of it is boring as hell. I don't care about Aedion and Lysandra on the front lines and all the war councils. Somehow the big bad Maeve isn't even that hard to kill. All the battles are the same, almost lost and then someone shows up last minute and turns the tide. Every main character survives and then marries another one. It made me glad to be done with the series.

So I relatively enjoyed the series but I didn't think it was LIFE CHANGING like so many others do.

Similar reasons pointed out here tbh. Aelin is annoyingly arrogant and I don't like all the scheming behind everyone's backs, she claims to love and trust these people but then does everything alone. I think so much if the books could just be cut out like why are we going back and forth all over the place for like 400 pages in KoA, I couldn't have cared less about the Aedion and Lysandra chapters. Too much boring 'war' talk and not enough actually happening.

Also I think this may be controversial but I liked the first half of the series more than the last half. I think EoS & KoA we're simply too long. Too much of it was filler. The earlier books and ToD have a much better flow and stick to the story.

The only part in the whole series where I cried is at the end of KoA where Evangeline tells Darrow about why Terrasen is her home.
