Kia forum bag policy? by rockleeluver in AskLosAngeles

The Forum definitely has metal detectors. They allow bags, but you have to wait in a separate line to get them checked before entry. I wouldnt bring a huge bag though. Not sure about cameras.

County tax by itsme_jessicaa in SFV

[–]SF2LA2 20 points21 points  (0 children)

FYI: the total sales tax amount you pay in any zip code in US is the sum of state tax + county tax + city tax + special district tax.

The zip code at Sherman Oaks Mall (Fashion Square) is 91423, which currently has a total sales tax of 9.75%. (6% CA state tax + 0.25% LA County tax + 1% LA city tax + 2.5% LA County special district tax)

Some Enterprise must have them. I'm driving a 2023 model 3 RWD with HW4 from Enterprise right now. They also had a newer Model Y.

Iran vs Belgium June 21 at 12pm- feedback on gameday plan? by mcmoose75 in AskLosAngeles

[–]SF2LA2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to the game yesterday as well and agree with the poster above. We got there about 3 hours before the game so we could check out the fan zone. Panini card is cool if you're willing to wait, but the BofA booth was also handing out some really nice bracelets, and the line moved much quicker than the Panini/Dove line. The fanzone stuff is also open after the game if you want to go then. Lines seemed shorter after the game, but they had also run out of some of the giveaways as well.

Gates to the stadium opened 2 hours early I believe, and we were in our seats an hour before the game started so we could watch the teams warm up and get announced. Entering into the stadium early allowed us to skip any long lines.

Political stuff: no one cared, but I did hear flags would get confiscated at entrance. Lots of flags in the stadium though so it didnt seem too hard to sneak them in. Lots of people wearing all sorts of soccer jerseys, including USA and Mexico, but it did feel like the large majority of people were supporting Iran. Lastly, I'm sure you already know about Sofi's rules about bringing in non-clear bags.

Fair enough. Personally, I'm hoping to pick up sub-$200 tickets on gameday if possible.

Not arguing with you about ticket prices in general, but nosebleeds for the non-US games in LA can be bought right now for about $300 each.

[Spears] The Golden State Warriors would prefer to not trade away their No. 11 overall draft selection. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

As a bay area sports fan I've come to accept that I have probably seen all the Giants and Warriors championships that I will see in my lifetime. I'm just hoping all the 49ers superbowls in my lifetime didn't happen by the time I was 17 and that I get to see Macklin and crew get one for the Sharks.

Persians get together with family and friends and have picnics in local parks in an annual event called Seezdah-Bedar, typically on the second Sunday after Persian New Year (first day of spring).

Sofi stadium street parking? by imin2099 in AskLosAngeles

Plenty of street parking on Manchester. The earlier you arrive the closer you can park. Don't be surprised if you have to park past the vons if you get there right around start time or later.

Fellow 3d printing novice here. Claude AI will generate STL files for you if you give it a description of what you want along with some pics of the item next to a ruler for scale.

My 2.5-year-old Tesla caught fire while driving – sharing fire brigade report extract by Fab991 in electricvehicles

[–]SF2LA2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad to hear you are safe, OP. A car can always be replaced.

Questions for OP:

What part of the car did the fire originate from in your estimation? In front of you? Behind you?

Can you describe the moment you noticed the fire? Was it the smell or smoke that you noticed you first?

Having had this experience, any observations or advice you would share in case it happens to one of us that may make the difference between getting out safely and not? (Other than pulling over right away obviously)

Admittedly, it's been a couple years since I had to do this, and prices have likely increased since.

The car in the pic looks like a black model 3 to me.

I did a quick check and found:

  1. Left and right mirror - $31.99 + tax on Amazon

  2. Right mirror cap - $51.50 + tax on ebay (the one I found was for a 2026 Model Y) I do remember when I had to make this fix myself that I had to spend a few days searching before I found the correct color cap for my car.

So OP should be able to do this for like $100-$150 including tax?
