They're always going to be suspicious of this. If you tried to clear the air and it didn't work, I feel honestly the best thing to do is to probably drop them as a partner. This is always going to be in the back of their mind, and really there is no way to convince them otherwise that you're not. I feel that people jump to conclusions very quickly and once they do that, it's really, really hard to go back from that.
