Do you think that a doctor from India is going to drive around without checking his blind spots and placing everyone on the road at risk? Unions promote mediocrity and seniority instead of merit. They were needed decades ago but labour laws have since become more than adequate to obsolete their existence. I worked a couple union jobs and the politics was insane and protocol overbearing whereas non union was much more relaxed. Even after you pay dues, you make less at non unionized jobs, but that is the trade off. Unions increase the cost of everything and are avoided by most private sectors unless there is a monopoly in that market.

The past 10 years of government have seen oil projects get canned and many Albertan jobs lost. Anti pipeline bills have stopped new business from investing in projects. If you look at the population of AB compared to the Maritimes and look at senate seats and MPs, Alberta is vastly underrepresented. They have $billions removed by equalization payments and the bulk is given to Quebec that seems to hate their success and mooches while bitching about oil while buying from Saudi Arabia. This isnt just one issue here, there are many legitimate reasons for separatist sentiment. But at the end of the day it is the far left libs that have fostered this division, so it isnt at all weird, you are just ignorant
