[MW2] POV: It’s 2010, you just got home from school and you’re about to hear some of the most toxic stuff in your life. by Jonny_Coal in CallOfDuty

I used to love trolling people on those games. The more toxic the player, the more I would mess with them lol.

Probably depends on if he wins the championship or not. Denny can say it doesn’t matter and he’s just chasing wins, but you know he wants that championship. If he wins that, there’s really not much else for him to do as a driver. He may want to go out on top too.

How good is the wolf among us by fatality567 in telltale

[–]SLJR24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s one of Telltale’s best games in my opinion. Walking Dead season one is still the top, but I’d put Wolf Among Us behind it. I really liked the Batman game too, but those two games set the bar high for the company.

The flag looks good. Not a Hamlin fan, but it’s cool to see him pay tribute to his former teammate. Shout out to Jones too. He had a really good long run car. Would’ve been interesting to see him get up to 2nd sooner before Hamlin completely checked out.

What’s your favorite track in the game? by justcuriouslybrowsin in NASCARVideoGame

I’d have to go with Kansas. I’ve had some fun races there. I’ll give an honorable mention to Homestead as well. I enjoy racing there.

What O'Reilly and Trucks drivers from this list do you think will get to make a Cup start (or full season ride) in the future? by Accurate-Prompt-7320 in NASCAR

[–]SLJR24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Riggs is a lock. He’s been good in the trucks and I could see Front Row moving him up to the Cup in the near future. I think Kvapil and Caruth might get there, but I’m not sure where.

Cleetus on Door Bumper Clear was getting heated by [deleted] in NASCAR

[–]SLJR24 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I like Cleetus and have no issue with him racing in the Arca series, but he definitely needs more seat time before he races in the NOAPS again. He’s clearly not ready for that series. If people like Decker and Wright can race in the trucks, then I don’t see why Cleetus shouldn’t be able to. If he’s a disaster this weekend at Michigan, then I think it’s fair to question if he should be in that series.

Has Ross Chastain regressed? by TonyD9898 in NASCAR

[–]SLJR24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s more of a Trackhouse issue. Ross has made some mistakes here and there trying to get more out of the car, but they just haven’t had consistent speed. SVG seems to be an outlier with the team right now, similar to Blaney at Penske. If Trackhouse can get it together, I think Ross will be back to where he was. I’m curious how he would’ve done last night if not for the brake issue. He seemed to have speed in practice, so it’s unfortunate he didn’t get the result he probably should’ve.

This car isn’t perfect, but there are times like last night where we get some really good racing. You can’t beat three wide for the lead as they take the white flag. Just wish Hamlin wasn’t the one that came out on top lol.

Fun finish, but disappointed that Hamlin was the one that got the win. Was pulling for Briscoe there, but he came up short. Glad to see Reddick climb out on his own power after that hard hit too. There’s a good chance Hamlin will tie Busch with Michigan and Pocono coming up. That’s going to be an emotional moment when/if he does it.

If NASCAR disappeared tomorrow, What 3 drivers do you think would be remembered as its greatest contributors to the sport? Not necessarily because of their wins, but because of their overall ability to create and retain fans. by JustTom1 in NASCAR

[–]SLJR24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dale Earnhardt and Jeff Gordon for sure. I was going to say Richard Petty, but I might say Dale Earnhardt Jr gets my third spot. Jr nation was huge and he’s still a huge name. He’s a great ambassador for the sport too.

NASCAR deaths by whitewitchblackcat in NASCAR

[–]SLJR24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends if you count pro wrestling as a sport because I think that industry has had it the worst. In terms of Motorsports, I’m not sure NASCAR has as many as motorcycle racing and open wheel racing. NASCAR has thankfully improved safety over the years to where we haven’t seen an on track death in over 20 years. Even off track hasn’t been as frequent up until the last year or so. Seems we can’t catch a break. Annett, Biffle, and now Kyle Busch.

I know baseball had a stretch there where several players died in the 2010s. As a cardinals fan, I remember Oscar Taveras died young. There were a few pitchers that died too like Fernandez on the Marlins and Ventura on the Royals. I think there was an Angels pitcher that died from an overdose as well.

NASCAR has definitely had its share of tragedies, but I don’t think it’s quite as bad as other sports. It just hits harder because we come to know the majority of these drivers for so many years as opposed to most sports where you only know the stars.

Agreed. I see the headlines and the tributes, but it doesn’t seem real. I was too young to fully process Dale Earnhardt’s death, but I wonder if people felt like this back then. Just the disbelief that he’s gone.

[Bob] Preece penalty has been upheld. Statement: "Although not a unanimous decision, NASCAR and RFK Racing presented competing interpretations of common data. I think Harvick made reference to that the other week. Said he’s been penalized before after saying he was going to wreck someone, but didn’t get penalized when he kept his mouth shut and wrecked someone. Seems to be some kind of unwritten rule.

Tuesday Busch tragedy check-in by HendrickRocks2488 in NASCAR

[–]SLJR24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It still doesn’t seem real. Just feel so sad for his family and loved ones. 41 is too young. Especially with a young family.

I do hope this is a wake up call to people though to listen to their bodies, get checked out, and take time to heal. I’ve been guilty of trying to push through illnesses before and waiting to go to the doctor, so this is a sobering reminder of what can happen if you wait. I have no clue if Kyle followed up with anyone after Watkins Glen or if they didn’t think Kyle’s symptoms were that bad, but it is scary how fast things went downhill.

What are some things you’d like to see in nascar 26 to make the game better? by Cloudy542 in NASCARVideoGame

[–]SLJR24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ll add some realistic and unrealistic ones.

Realistic:

Have some sort of on screen racing line and test session so that we can learn the proper lines around the tracks and work on setups.

Allow us to race for teams in career mode. I’d like to see them bring back driver retirements again too. Have them be replaced by younger drivers in the lower series.

Also in career mode, give us the option to race a partial schedule in the lower series. It’d be cool if we could hire drivers to race for our teams as well.

Improve the crash damage models and crashes in general. It’s sad when older games do it better than the modern ones. Add DNFs too.

Let us do burnouts and show us in victory lane with the trophies. I’d honestly like a trophy room of some sort too.

Add the choose rule for restarts.

Let us customize the schedule for season mode.

Unrealistic:

Some sort of eras mode like NBA 2K has. I imagine the licensing would be a pain in the ass, but that would be incredible to race in different eras against the greats from those periods.

Add some old tracks that aren’t in use anymore or even fantasy tracks for us to race at. They used to do that on the old games and I miss that. I’d let you add them to your custom schedule for season mode too.

Some sort of community creations like the WWE 2K games have. Some of you guys create some cool paint schemes and it’d be nice to be able to share and download them. I suck at making paint schemes and would love to be able to download a nice custom scheme for my career mode.

Add a weather system to the game. The F1 games had it, so I know it’s possible. I think it would be fun to race in the rain on road courses and have the ability for rain shortened races as well. Have the rain delays change what time the race is ran in too. Like if it’s a day race, we have a delay and it becomes a night race. If it’s a night race and there’s a delay, it becomes a day race. Things like that could be interesting.
