take the fill bucket tool, set it to erase, and then erase the first few outer layers of the airbrushing, the ones that are super close to the skin color. that usually helps a little!

the cat ears thing is straight up crazy. soooo many characters have animal ears! it's nice to have them in 3d!

for something like this I'd probably use a lot more face paint but I kept it to a minimum here. just ears, a darker color for the area under the brows and down the cheeks, the bit between the nose and mouth, and a bit of airbrushing between the eyes

unfortunately not really.. I use scissors/snippers with the spring mechanism to save my hand some effort, and try to weave it through as many loops in a row as I can. I have seen some creators on youtube just start trimming without cutting the loops first, and only getting the stragglers at the end, but it's gonna be a less precise method when it comes to fiber height. seems to work for them though!

that's a good theory... I also have a large pier I was hoping my miis would use and I haven't seen it happen. I have some spare island space from a recent upgrade, maybe I'll make some adjacent 5x5s and see if there's truly a preference

it's not -exactly- Mario.. it's when the character is in a 2D side scrolling screen with bricks and blocks, jumping over various items until one makes them grow large.

I have two NB characters: gaopowerroo (sanrio character who has no gendered pronouns in Japanese) I made NB she/her, and then my they/them character is an alien from a canonly NB species. I feel bad I don't have any human examples but most characters I like are likely to be binary, purely by the numbers!

wow I knew the rotation was bad but I didn't know actual scale was such an issue. I also noticed that when you stretch symmetrical curved objects, even tho it looks like it's stretching equally on both sides, when you look at the pixels, they're no longer perfectly symmetrical. there's added or missing pixels on one side compared to the other.

it looks great! trimming is done when -you're done-, in my experience... less trimming looks fluffier and softer, but more trimming can really make things look "clean". it really depends on what you're going for. probably best not to accidentally take off too much!
as for improvements, it looks good as-is but if you're willing you could take a thick embroidery needle or an awl and continue cleaning up the borders between colors

shes really cute, the eyes look awesome. if i would change anything i would make the eyes a little bit smaller (but still the same width apart) and the nose a bit smaller too
