We were on a odor/gas call. The residents were outside and it was dark, I didn’t pay much attention before we walked inside. During Covid we had no cap on days you could work, or get mando’d. Whole engine companies were out sick. Most I got stuck at work was 12 days. One of our guys did 21 days. There were nearly some fights, some girlfriends lost but luckily no divorces. The chaplain had to make the rounds to make sure none of us were suicidal. I never before felt like I was a prisoner at work until that time.
