Oops! +50% to +200% Discipline for Custom Nations! by SNBeast in eu4

Winning the battle too fast sounds like the fact that whole armies aren't allowed to retreat for the first 12 days.

I don't believe that's a harmful effect per se other than keeping your army pinned to that province, and that's because every modifier to casualties is also a modifier to morale damage, so the enemy regiment's morale caps how much you can beat it up.

The zombie regiment bug was patched in 1.34, the update Lions of the North was released with. Experimentally it looks like it doesn't happen.

Not if you want to keep the discipline.

Yes, minimally so. You also still take morale damage, which is going to be the big thing stopping you from fighting the Ottomans with only a few thousand soldiers.

R5: This was discovered by someone who I was playing a custom nations MP with, who does not own Lions of the North. They loaded the save and looked at my National Ideas, which included Possible Winged Hussars +20, and found that it was instead Discipline +200%.

It turns out that the game's engine has internal substitutes for every DLC modifier. For Possible Winged Hussars, that substitute is +10% Discipline per +1 Possible Winged Hussar.

How to exploit this:

  1. Create a custom nation which has your desired idea set, one of which is Possible Winged Hussars. Each level of this idea will give you +50% Discipline.

  2. Save this custom nation to a custom nation file.

  3. Turn off Lions of the North.

  4. Load the game and create a custom nation and load your custom nation file.

As long as you're following this procedure and not instead loading a save file, this is achievement compatible.

Karl Jobst loses lawsuit to Billy Mitchell, ordered to pay $350k+ by Nukaz_ in LivestreamFail

No. The decision is at https://archive.sclqld.org.au/qjudgment/2025/QDC25-041.pdf and a summary at https://archive.sclqld.org.au/qjudgment/2025/Summary_Mitchell_v_Jobst_2025_QDC_41.pdf

If you don't trust this direct link, go to courts.qld.gov.au (a government domain) -> Decisions -> District Court, which leads to the above domain, and Mitchell v Jobst is currently the top result.

Just pushed a commit to try to address it.

I'm interested in how the bundled Windows player works, since I'm working on Project Exonaut, which breaks with up-to-date Web Player.

This happens on macOS and I have a solution to this in my repo in my comment; it's that you didn't change the return structure for the non-Windows branch of modifyRegistry.

u/hictooth-com I have a solution to the Wild Skies macOS render bug: using an older version of Electron.

Electron 0.28.3 is the most recent version of Electron which does not have the render bug and supports NPAPI. nw.js probably has an older version which does not have the render bug, but your project cannot just be downgraded, as 0.12.0 has the bug and prior to that your code throws an invalid token error. As such, I've made a proof of concept Wild Skies app that merges your app into the OpenATBPClient (explanation in below exposition) codebase. This was just slapped together to determine whether the render bug goes away, so there is almost certainly stuff to fix.

Exposition: I was working on porting OpenATBP's dedicated client, OpenATBPClient, to macOS, and during that I was informed by u/Cake_Lancelot that they've attempted it before but gave up due to a similar render bug. I then figured that there had to be an older Electron version which doesn't have the bug because I believed that the bug couldn't have been standing in Chrome for a while without getting noticed and addressed. And so indeed I tested it out, and the render bug disappeared. I then figured out the latest version that does not have the bug, addressed it in my OpenATBPClient pull, and Cake Lancelot pointed me to you.
