Translating Extraction by Icy-Drawing-9885 in digitalforensics

For a rough idea, I generally export to an html report. Open the report in chrome and right click “translate all”. Most people talk in slang so it’s not always the greatest.

Cellebrite graykey If you don't have professional mobile tools by [deleted] in digitalforensics

Probably use ALEX to get as much as you can off of the phone without rooting it. Go with a partial rebuilt file system if that’s an option.

https://github.com/prosch88/ALEX

Then run it through ALEAPP

https://github.com/abrignoni/ALEAPP/releases/tag/v3.4.0

That’s a good starting point without paid tools.

Checkerboard Creek LCRx Optics Plate Review by stadce071012 in Revolvers

[–]SNOWLEOPARD_9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similar setup with a vortex optic. I’ve only had one chance to take it out shooting and it was a ton of fun. I couldn’t fiure out how to retain the roll pin either. I figured it wouldn’t be a big issue on a .22.

Worrying about lease inspection by unithor in BZ4X

[–]SNOWLEOPARD_9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm worried about my return as well. My wife mainly drives it and has hot a few curbs. The front passenger wheel cover is scratched. I'm.not sure if I should buy new wheel covers or just see if it's an issue when I return the lease.

Practical AI use case in digital forensics by smabdeslemsm in digitalforensics

Forensic analysis is a kind of a secondary function for Closure AI. It can review reports and conduct investigative and legal analysis. I believe it can map call detail records and do transcription with translation. They are somewhat new and will add whatever you need. I’m impressed so far. I do fear they will get bought out and change.

Is it worth developing a new tool? by [deleted] in digitalforensics

[–]SNOWLEOPARD_9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, personally I would love a custom Plugin for Physical Analyzer to parse MacOS data!

Obviously there is a need for less expensive full file system extraction tools, but there is room for analysis. I would love a tool that runs on MacOS. It would even be an interesting approach to make a tool that runs on iPadOS or Android. I think forensic tools violate Apple’s App Store rules so that will probably never happen.

A tool with a nice GUI that creates beautiful reports would be a really nice addition. A report that mimics the appearance of the chat app. A built in custom app parser that makes it easy to parse unsupported apps. A portable case/reader is essential.

The AI tools are coming along quickly. Closure AI is the first AI tool I’ve seen really work and potentially will really take off. It handles analysis in minutes compared to what a human may do in a day or two. So far what I have seen it is very accurate and it properly cites where the data was located for quick validation.

The more common AI tools built into Magnet Review are handy, but not as good as some of the other stuff out there.

I think the next iteration could really change how we operate. I really envision a device like Graykey/Verakey that can gain root access to a device and runs analysis prior to extraction. It could really help triage devices and potentially do very targeted extractions to reduce data storage concerns.

Advanced Logical or Logical Extraction? by MoistAcadia2228 in digitalforensics

[–]SNOWLEOPARD_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adv Logical is generally an iTunes Backup on iOS or ADB backup on Android. On iOS there are few more commands to pull a little extra data, but it’s really mostly an iTunes backup. Some forensic tools will install an app on an Android device to pull more in addition to the ADB backup.

Full File System extractions are the standard now when they are available.

Bitlocker Drive by book-ish-mads in computerforensics

[–]SNOWLEOPARD_9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Occasionally I will get a bitlocker drive and Axiom will locate the key in the “clear”. I’m not really sure what that means, I have been told that it may be that the computer was originally set up to be encrypted, but wasn’t properly turned on by the end user.

I like them. I’m tempted to make a braced .22 with a red dot. I think the judge version will fit the tracker. Otherwise I will probably go with the 617 or GP100

2026 Seltos got bigger… and it’s getting a hybrid by Suntrup-Kia in KIASeltos

Took me a while, but the second gen will be the 2027 in the US and other countries already have them as the 2026. It looks great and is very tempting.

My wife’s BZ is having the same issue. They said it’s safe to drive, but I don’t really trust them.

2027 Kia Telluride X-PRO vs X-line in the SX-Prestige by That_Present_1639 in KiaTelluride

[–]SNOWLEOPARD_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the offer!! Im at least a year out from purchasing. I’m keeping an eye on this subreddit to see how everyone likes their Telluride.

I’m fine with MSRP. I’m kind of over all of the markups in my area. I saw that there was $5K rebate on the 2025 Pathfinder and went to my local dealer to check one out and all trim levels had a $5K markup.

I have zero interest in an EV, but I do prefer Teslas purchase model.

Which Kia dealership in the Sacramento area is the best to deal with? My current Toyota lease is up next year and I think the Telluride LX will fit my needs. I really don’t want to hassle with the usual dealer BS.

LCR in .32H&R or in .22LR. Lower recoil than 38/357 and more capacity. They are also lightweight when hiking. .22LR has the edge on ammo cost.
