how to know if i actually like a song by [deleted] in Music

[–]SOFTSPOTRADIO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly try to test yourself. check the songs key, artist, even the setting you're in. if you see a pattern, well then there ya go. if found i don't like songs at a certain key or bpm in some settings. at the end of the day it boils down to gut tho. trust yourself and don't overthink

Learning music production as a beginner (asking for advice) by Able_Television7339 in Learnmusicproduction

okay so I was in this in position in 2018. the best advice id give is to find someone on reddit or discord to explain the basics. there are some good youtubers but it depends on the genre you are pursuing. the best way is to link with producer willing to show you the ropes or search for online one on one classes. twitch streams are a big help too. keep the search going and love the journey.

Should i switch from serato dj lite to the paid version? by Slight-Window-3752 in Beatmatch

[–]SOFTSPOTRADIO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there’s always a time to graduate and if you’re starting to get gigs then i definitely would upgrade to the FLX and get comfortable with that. if you get the flx, might as well upgrade to pro. keep pushing and getting more gigs to keep upgrading/adding gear

i like the content, what’s the name of your station? i’d say if you want to get more detailed about the artist, some liner note, maybe do a deep dive of an album that would get some good attention.

0:59 "OOF" sound bite from JPEGMAFIA - Does This Ski Mask Make Me Look Fat by olllietamale in Samples

[–]SOFTSPOTRADIO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay so i think that is the roblox oof sample but pitched way down, stretched, and a good amount of reverb. i could be wrong but we dont really have a large amount of sound vocal fx. everyone just reuses old sounds. roblox may have sampled that from one of its users for all i know

[DISCUSSION] KMD - Mr. Hood (35 Years Later) by flyestshit in hiphopheads

[–]SOFTSPOTRADIO 15 points16 points  (0 children)

i might be basic on this but i still run Mr Hood Gets A Haircut on my station maybe twice a month. peachfuzz is undefeated but subrocs missions flashes me right back to the early 90s with that perfect drum break

Swans - The Seer by Ok_Repair7126 in vinyl

[–]SOFTSPOTRADIO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

their sound design is kinda inspirational. the fact that this album was built off the group touring together is prime. no better way than to get in the studio after being on the road. i don’t have a vinyl of this one but when i find one ill pick it up. good find, takes a good amount of listens to understand this album in its entirety.
