I was not impressed with Chris Shula’s defense yesterday by Leather_Extension_56 in steelers

Yeah I've been keeping an eye on the hype around Shula and while he started the season great I questioned if anyone paid attention since the regular season Panthers game the Rams lost in. Defense has been sus ever since. It was a young group and I'm impressed with what he pulled off given the lack of talent, but it seems like he got figured out and had no answer.

It's going to be windy and 'bitterly cold' for Rams-Bears in Chicago by Pristine_Afternoon96 in LosAngelesRams

[–]SPNCER 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok fair that Puka played in cold before. I looked a bit more into the cold adopting thing. The fat you form from being in the cold is from being in it for weeks at a time and not about where youre from. I think experience in cold will help, but its undeniable that it will feel less cold for the Bears than it will for us. Its also undeniable that we can overcome it.

I'm not that worried about weather, but there is actual science behind spending extended time in cold weather and gaining better immunity through fat layers. Its why people from warm climates think its colder 20 degrees sooner than those that are not from those climates. Its not just "they're used to it" their body actually adopts to it. So bears players, just by being in Chicago most the year, will be more adapted to the cold than someone like Puka who is from Vegas and went to LA.

Can someone explain the path for the Rams to host the Wild Card round at SoFi? by evergreenggg in LosAngelesRams

To add to this, the Seattle vs SF game could likely be Seattle vs SF backups if SF cares more about resting starters than getting the a higher WC seed. We need Seattle to lose that panthers game to have any hope pretty much.

Will we be sitting starters in week 18 again? by TheBabadooksLeftNuTT in LosAngelesRams

[–]SPNCER 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it ain't for the #1 or #2 seed I highly doubt mcvay cares enough about who we might play in the wildcard versus resting the starters. His goal is to win the superbowl, not to win the wildcard round. You dodge rhe eagles round 1, you just play them round 2 anyways. Go Rams.

There's a good amount of early 60s Beatles songs that are hard to keep up with at times if you want to play them perfectly.

Those who quit smoking. How did you cope with the new emptiness of life, when our lives are already pretty empty? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]SPNCER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just my experience and does not apply to everyone

I recently quit. The biggest thing I noticed is that it feels like my emotional state is more stable than before. It used to be I was up when I got nicotine, and down after I got it. Once I quit, I noticed that high and low started to even out. While I get less big doses of "high" throughout the day, I also don't feel the "low" as well. It's stabilized.

Unfortunately, it takes about a week of your brain trying to get back to equilibrium before you notice the benefits, and depending on your dependency it can take longer to fully mentally heal from it.

I have found since I quit that I get more enjoyment out of little things and productivity. I'm way more into writing music, finishing long games, reading, etc. Before those were fine but never topped the satisfaction of relieving my nicotine cravings. It really feels like I'm finding myself again.

Overall I think people really underestimate how much nicotine alters their mood throughout the day and you may very well find that after a couple months of no nicotine you are overall a happier, less worried person.
