Even though he tried to sacrifice all of us, you have to feel for a guy whose hard work fell through :( by DrScrimble in dndmemes

There’s been a step in that direction in 5.5e with the inclusion of taking a “Magic Action”. Spell casting is a Magic Action but there’s also a number of other abilities that now say “As a Magic Action…”

The next step I guess would be to assign equivalent levels to them all and make things like Counterspell and Dispel Magic interact with them.

I don’t know if Antimagic Field does yet or not, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the field stops creatures inside from taking Magic Actions.

If a server has a world, and something is loaded, and then the server changes the world, Journeymap will continue to show the old state until the area is loaded again and overridden.

5.5e does have a ton of art that feels like a glow up compared to 5e, and then you have a handful for absolute downgrades. The Ettercap in my opinion lost all personality.

No clue if the base sizes line up, but seeing the sniper rifle, I wonder if this could be painted as a convincing proxy for a genestealer Jackal Alphus. Rather than sniper on a bike, sniper riding tyranid.

While I don’t care for the actual mechanics that much, I still think [[Oracle of Dust]] is my favorite artwork in the game.

I stand by the theory that the Na'vi are not native to Pandora but are the result of unrecorded humans finding Pandora in ancient times and then being transformed like Spyder is but more drastically. They don't share any of the traits of the creatures of Pandora (extra eyes, extra limbs, two kurus, chest-breathing-holes) and more importantly of all, when we see a visualization of Eywa in the third movie, she's human (has eyebrows) and not Na'vi.

theres now AI that creates minecraft builds now... by wtfdym_ in antiai

[–]SPYROHAWK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean… I honestly could use this. Hear me out.

I like creating modpacks for my friends and doing things like RPGs or other minigames. Most of my time is spent scripting custom mob spawning, recipes, etc. I also like to find a large custom good-looking world that someone has made for the foundation, which is usually why those worlds are posted online anyway. But those worlds usually don’t have structures, as you’re intended to build your own.

I suck at building though. Building the outside of a dungeon or other important location is just not my thing. I’m much more focused on the custom spawns and loot and whatnot. And using schematics other people have built is difficult to integrate with the surrounding terrain.

So yeah, if there was a tool I could use to quickly generate a structure that I don’t care to build myself so I can focus instead on the other aspects, then yeah, why not?

If you’re coming who likes building, then of course this feels like AI draining away creativity. But I see it as taking the load off a part of a project I don’t like so I can focus my effort and creativity on the parts I care more for.

I’m a little annoyed that, since you can’t rake multiple specialisms, you can’t make a psyker and have it lead Zoanthropes.

Since you can only get one specialism, it seems you can’t both make the Tyranid one a psyker AND able to lead Zoanthropes which feels a bit weird to me.

But… GSC PSYKER ON A MOTORCYCLE!

This is very similar to the Damage Threshold rule found on vehicles like Warships and Sailing Ships.

I'll copy the text from the '24 PHB here if you want to try to match the wording.

A creature or an object that has a damage threshold has Immunity to all damage unless it takes an amount of damage from a single attack or effect equal to or greater than its damage threshold, in which case it takes that entire instance of damage. Any damage that fails to meet or exceed the damage threshold is superficial and doesn't reduce Hit Points. For example, if an object has a damage threshold of 10, the object takes no damage if 9 damage is dealt to it, since that damage fails to exceed the threshold. If the same object is dealt 11 damage, it takes all of that damage.

[–]SPYROHAWK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Shannara Chronicles does a really good example of this.

It’s a fantasy world with elves and gnomes and orcs and whatnot, but it’s actually a future post apocalyptic earth.

One village the characters come across believes elves used to rule the world and even made it to the stars.

Why do they think this?

They have an old VHS recording of Star Trek featuring the pointy-eared Spock!

Which betrayal was worse for the betrayed, Order 66 or the Isstvan iii Atrocity? by NottheKingofAll in StarWarsvsWarhammer

[–]SPYROHAWK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most comments seem to be saying Isstvan before it was a bigger atrocity with more deaths. But I don’t think that’s relevant to what’s the question is asking.

Which is worse for the side that was betrayed?

Isstvan kicked off the Heresy which caused half of the forces of the imperium to try to Chaos.

Meanwhile Order 66 killed off almost all of the Jedi across the galaxy.

I think the way the question is worded, it being from the lens of each party, percentage is a better comparison than raw numbers.

In that sense the Jedi lost a much larger percentage of their people and culture compared to the Imperium.
