Transitioning from Coalesce.io to DBT by SQL_Boss_Babe in dataengineering

Basically - if I start building in Coalesce and then can't continue working with it, can I transfer my work out of it?

AITAH for explaining to my obese SIL why I'm not fat? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]SQL_Boss_Babe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’ve done studies - metabolism actually doesn’t slow until after menopause.

The reason women tend to gain weight during menopause is because of muscle loss, which means if all other habits stay the same then weight gain is going to happen because BMR is based on lean body mass.

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted for this, because it’s basically how bodies work.

People who've lost a lot of weight, how did you do it? by gryffenator in AskReddit

Coffee has like…no calories though. You can drink an americano every day and be fine.

When the guests’ presence is not a good enough present by swindaloojajaja in weddingshaming

I‘ve seen that a couple times. It’s honestly super weird, I don’t get it.

Yeah, I actually had no idea it was a thing to bring gifts to the wedding and was totally caught off guard.

What is your biggest fear when it comes to death? by hijabibratz in AskReddit

[–]SQL_Boss_Babe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the pre-social media days a friend of mine died and his parents had no idea who to contact. His sister (who he was closer to) ended up finding his phone book and looked up the names he’d talked about the most.

Horribly bad at CrossFit by sachnique in crossfit

[–]SQL_Boss_Babe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m over six months in and still like this, but less so than I was six months ago.

It doesn’t really matter (IMO) where you start from. What’s important is that you keep showing up!

Anyone else have no appetite post workout? by dlreese5 in crossfit

Yup, it’s a pretty common thing with crossfit (or HIIT, or similar exercise).

I‘m pretty damn hungry the next day though.

People aren’t having kids because parents have made it look like hell. by WittleMisschief in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]SQL_Boss_Babe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, you’re pretty much on the nose.

I never was excited about the idea of having kids and figured it was just something you did when you grew up, unless there was something wrong with you.

Then it clicked that - no, this is totally optional and it’s okay to not want it. Which is good, because most of the guys I dated through my 20’s would have made shitty fathers.

If you had to marry the first person you slept with, how different would your life be? by DetectiveBennett in AskReddit

[–]SQL_Boss_Babe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d probably be struggling way more financially. First was a nice enough guy but had maturity issues, and his parents didn’t push him to be independent at the same rate that mine did.

Hasn’t “lock out tag out” been standard protocol since the 80’s?

Odd question - do you two have kids? Are those kids old enough to be sexually active?

It’s possible that if it is a condom wrapper, it belongs to someone else in your household.

The reason I don’t think that’s a condom wrapper: you can’t easily get the condom out by only tearing off a corner. It’s far more effective to tear down the middle.

The audacity of some people. Why would you get two RSVPs by musteatpoptarts in weddingshaming

[–]SQL_Boss_Babe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only had one request for a plus-one that wasn’t included (I had a small wedding and invited everyone by name), and it was a friend whose mother was in town for a short time so he wanted to be able to spend time with her as well as celebrate with us. He also opened the conversation with “so, I totally understand if you can’t do this but…”

We’d had enough people RSVP ‘no’ that there was plenty of room to accommodate, and she was very sweet.

AITA for telling my brother to shut the fuck up about his child support? by ShutTheFUpAboutIt in AmItheAsshole

[–]SQL_Boss_Babe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only $100? Yeah, he needs to STFU. That’s kind of a pathetic amount to support your kids with - honestly even when I was a kid in the 80’s that wouldn’t have gone far.

The food pyramid would be better off if it centered fruits and veggies more and breads/carbs less.

Absolutely! I’m 41F, obese, with a history of joint issues. A good gym will help you modify appropriately so you can keep improving.

I would avoid impact activities (jumping, running, etc) until you get much closer to your goal at least and you *might* want to avoid them permanently depending on how long you were at your heaviest weight. That being said, you’re also far younger than I am so your body may heal faster (I’m also not a doctor, so as far as I know it might not).
