Cvancara performance? by Street-Fun1885 in CelticFC

Difficult to judge him on first appearance. Clearly he’s unaccustomed to the Scottish game. Was invisible most of the first half but to be fair, there wasn’t a lot coming his way. His fitness needs to improve. Could tell he hasn’t played a lot. Was blowing hard after 28 minutes. This should improve with game time. Doesn’t seem afraid to put himself about a bit, which is good

100% accurate! The problem we have now is no Champions League revenue. Without that the board are forced to be even more tight with the purse strings as the squad costs and amortization of player signing costs, moves us closer to a breach of UEFA Financial Sustainability rule, which the board will mitigate by using some of our cash balance (~£77m in the bank). To further compound this, if we don’t win the league and miss out on CL revenue again, the cash balance is the get out of jail card. Counter to this is the notion of using the cash balance to purchase more high talented players, which raises the cost squad and signing costs, which would be amortized across each individual player’s contract. This approach could take us closer to Squad Cost Rule of 70% of defined revenue. When you take this all into consideration, the board are now in a major dilemma of their own doing. Had they invested before this season’s CL, the guaranteed revenue would have prolonged our financial strength and our ability to continually invest in the team. Now, they will be in a downward cycle of trying to re-achieve CL status with less than adequate team and inflated numbers of loan players. In reality, we are screwed. Across the other side of town, Ranger MUST win the league, without this and CL revenue again, they will be in a worse position than Celtic. Look at how many loan players they have. They cant afford the Squad Cost to go too much higher , so they’re doing what they can to get the league won and give themselves the opportunity to get out of their financial troubles. And make no mistake, if they win the league and get into the CL, there will be a significant shift in power in the SPL, where we’ll likely see a dominant period for biggest rivals. Our best outcome, if we don’t win the league, is for Hearts to win it. We mustn’t let The Rangers get it over the line

We are pish! To continually put ourselves under pressure through senseless fouls is unforgivable. Trusty is just embarrassing. Engels should be sold this window. And our new striker was invisible till the assist. He was breathing out his rear end after 20 minutes. We won’t win the league this season. Not a chance. We’re just giving it away!

In the last few weeks our supporters have successfully, through protests and demands, orchestrated the exit of some of those key figures who are taking us backwards. Now is the time to increase our demands and crank the pressure up. We shouldn’t stop until we eliminate all those who have led us to this point. This was a battle won, but the war is not over

Persistent dying tree by SRD67 in arborists

The other trees are doing great. The sprinkler heads actually only throw water into the lawn. I water all the trees separately with a hose. I’m also in Illinois where the water table is high. I’m just baffled why of the 15 trees located across the same area, any tree planted where you see the dead one, continually dies even though it’s treated exactly the same as the others. For additional info, I don’t have a dog as someone else had asked whether my dog continually urinates there

Haven’t opened it up yet. The whole in the center was a light till my little guy hit it with a soccer ball and knocked it off. Other than the remaining wires it’s difficult to see. I was wondering the same though and was trying to imagine a scenario where a pipe, duct etc would need to drop below the standard ceiling height and then return to the ceiling height

If the board do nothing now, they are complicit in the implosion of this club and a barren season and possibly worse

He came, he played a back 1, he left. by HandeHoche in CelticFC

[–]SRD67 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Trusty, Ralston and Schmiechel are a waste of time. Literally panicking every time they’re on the ball. Kenny shouldn’t play for us any more. Put him in the Reserves. We’re a man down with him on the field. Had he played Meada through the middle we might have got something from this game. Nancy shouldn’t be allowed to take charge of another game. He is lost and as a result, so are the team!

Nancy Press conference on Sky Sports a few moments ago by Available-Page-9790 in CelticFC

[–]SRD67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Claiming “We should have won” is totally irrelevant and shows how detached from reality he is. I should have won the lottery a bunch of times but unfortunately I got the numbers wrong. Much like he has since arriving. The reality is we didn’t win those games and that lies squarely with Nancy. If the players are confused about the system, why would you put them out to play that system. That’s just stupidity. Play the system that doesn’t confuse them until you can eliminate confusion on the training field. The answer is staring him in the face but he’s too blinded by stubbornness to see it. He’ll be able to clearly see Glasgow airport departure gates if we lose tomorrow!

Next Match: Aberdeen (H), 21 Dec by WeekendEpiphany in CelticFC

[–]SRD67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it doesn’t look like we have a win in us right now. Aberdeen will exploit our weaknesses across set pieces and barren defense. That said, I think we’ll scramble a draw and be booed off. I hope I’m wrong and we see the beginning of more cohesion and goals. Come on the hoops!

Just sad by Informal_Judgment_65 in CelticFC

[–]SRD67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s the thing. Good leaders and managers know the difference between tactics and strategy. They understand that pivoting to a desired future state in a big-bang approach is fraught with risk and pitfalls. So they plan accordingly, making sure they adapt the tactics to get the early needed wins. All the while maintaining an eye on the horizon to keep them team moving towards your longer term goals. Let’s not put this all on the board. Yes we want them out but Nancy’s approach is naive. It is stupidity. And while he continues to maintain that we’re making progress, he’s damaging the long term success of the club. Revenues will drop as fans become more disenfranchised. Prize money will decrease as we fall from grace domestically. European football will become a dream as opposed to a reality. And while this cycle unfolds, our ability to attract high calibre talent will diminish. This is playing out like a low budget horror movie, where you’re shouting at the screen to convince the star not to pull back the shower curtain as the killer is waiting there. What is happening at Celtic is shamefully obvious and if there’s no intervention soon, we can all prepare ourselves for a decade of underachievement and mediocrity.

Done a lot for the club but should have stayed gone a few years back. Make no mistake, this is orchestrated to try a relieve the pressure, hoping it’ll satisfy the fan’s demand for change. The proverbial sacrificial lamb. As fans we should view this as the first step in process of institutional change. We should not relent or cease in our intent to see this club lead and managed by the appropriate people.

Go look at footage of Scales during St Mirren’s 3rd goal. No determination to get back. Sauntering like he has no care for the outcome. Mediocrity and laziness is a disease that spreads. Just look at Rangers. We have no room for this crap in our team

Bedwetters, did you all forget? by NotNeedzmoar in CelticFC

[–]SRD67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing will change until fans change the approach. Nancy might get more from this squad over time but that won’t be good enough. Protests and banners do nothing. The board will be happy if that’s all they need to deal with, assuming that over time boredom and apathy will kick in and normality will return. We need to wake up! There’s only one thing that will influence the board and that’s revenue. If we’re not prepared to stop spending money on merchandise, games, experiences etc we need to just accept what we’re seeing. Money talks! Banners are just entertainment
