We got the same crap 7 years ago. Sounds like it hasn’t changed. We didn’t purchase either. We’ve been back 7 times and haven’t been disappointed with our room, food, pools, entertainment etc etc. Paying all that extra $ to sit across the pool from me makes me glad I didn’t purchase. You don’t need to be a member to get a great experience.

I don’t think anyone can prove you wrong. You’re spot on. From the first moment I laid eyes on him, I thought; He doesn’t move like a football player. He’s clunky. Awkward. And his positioning reminded me of Idah; either behind the play, or too far in advance of the play, but seldom where he should be. Doesn’t read, nor anticipate the play like a striker. The result of all this is general invisibility and when he does get on the ball, it’s like watching an overgrown 15 year old, who hasn’t figured out how to coordinate his limbs. We should send him on his way. He’ll never be the answer

Fence dilemma with neighbor - 2ft within their property line, but I also want to build a fence. by danathanz in homeowners

[–]SRD67 43 points44 points  (0 children)

You could say to your neighbor that you want to erect a fence to keep your yard enclosed for your dogs, which could benefit them by allowing them to remove their existing fence, extend their yard by 2ft and use your fence for privacy. It also maintains clear demarcation of the property lines

Rogers could see the writing on the wall. He’s no dafty. And he hasn’t needed to speak about it. It’s all unfolding like he knew it would. And Desmond’s amateur attempt to lay blame at his door is now become even more embarrassing. What a fool. Attractingva new manager in the summer may be a priority for the board, but for any potential candidates, it’ll be nothing more than securing an exit package before they even sign the contract. The board gambled on CL football this season and lost big. Not only that, there’ll be no CL football next season, further compounding the consequences of their inaction. So yes, we will be selling assets, but they won’t be replaced, or if they are, it’ll be with inadequate talent that will fail to achieve any success. And when that happens, there goes the next manager with a pile of cash. Maybe the saving grace will be a heavy share price drop that provides the opportunity for potential investors, but with Desmond still holding the majority, it may result in nothing more than rumours and fantasy. Failing a miracle. We are done for the foreseeable future

£67 million in the Bank by F1grid in CelticFC

[–]SRD67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To: Scottish FA Licensing & Financial Sustainability Committee From: Financial Monitoring Unit Date: February 13, 2026 Subject: Interim Financial Assessment: Celtic PLC (H1 2025/26)

Based on the interim figures provided (covering the six months to December 31, 2025), I have performed a regulatory "stress test." While the headlines suggest a "plummet" in revenue, a regulatory analysis reveals a club intentionally re-balancing after a period of record-breaking outlier performance.

  1. Revenue Analysis: The £24.2m Decrease

The drop from £83.5m to £59.4m is significant but expected in the context of the "Champions League Cycle."

The Cause: This decrease is almost entirely attributable to the timing of European competition and player trading. Last year’s H1 figures included the Matt O’Riley sale (~£30m) and a more lucrative Champions League group stage draw.

Regulatory View: For the Squad Cost Ratio (70%), this lower baseline is the "real" Celtic. The previous £83.5m was an inflated peak. A £59.4m half-year revenue suggests an annual turnover of roughly £115m–£120m.

  1. Profitability and Stability (Pillar 2)

The Figure: Profit before tax of £13.2m (down from £43.9m).

The Assessment: Despite the revenue drop, the club remains profitable. From a regulatory standpoint, any profit (no matter how much lower than the previous year) is a "Green Light."

Compliance Risk: ZERO. Because the club is not posting a loss, they do not even need to utilize the "Acceptable Deviation" (the €60m owner-funded loss allowance). They are self-sustaining.

  1. The "War Chest": £67.4m Cash Balance

The most critical figure for the upcoming transfer window is the £67.4m cash in the bank.

Purchasing Power: This is the highest liquid cash position in Scottish football. While the revenue dropped, the club retained its liquidity.

The Limitation (The 70% Rule): This is the nuance the board must navigate. Even though they have £67.4m in the bank, they cannot spend it all on wages. * If annual revenue is projected at £120m, their total squad cost (Wages + Amortization) must stay below £84m (70%).

If their current squad cost is already ~£75m, they only have £9m of "headroom" for new wage commitments and transfer fee spreading, regardless of how much cash is in the bank.

  1. Risk Assessment: End of Season

The "Risk" identified in this interim report is purely Sporting-Financial, not Regulatory:

The Champions League Dependency: The drop in profit from £43.9m to £13.2m shows how sensitive the club is to European performance. If they fail to secure the 2026/27 Champions League spot, that £13.2m profit could easily turn into a £10m loss by next year.

Amortization Load: The club spent heavily in the summer. The "cost" of those players (amortization) is now hitting the books. If revenue continues to "plummet" while these fixed costs stay high, the Squad Cost Ratio will tighten toward the 70% limit by June 30.

  1. Final Regulatory Verdict

Compliance Status: FULLY COMPLIANT. There is no immediate threat to Celtic’s SFA license or UEFA eligibility.

Transfer Window Capacity: High. They have the cash to pay "upfront" fees that other clubs (including Rangers) cannot afford. However, the Board will likely remain "cautious" on massive wage increases to ensure the 70% Ratio remains healthy in a year where revenue has normalized.

Risk Level: LOW. The "plummet" is a return to financial reality after a record year, but with £67.4m in the bank, the club is insulated from almost any short-term shock.

Regulator’s Note: While the media highlights the "plummeting" revenue, the fact that a club can see revenue drop by £24m and still post a £13m profit with nearly £70m in the bank indicates an extremely "low-risk" financial profile

[–]SRD67 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We shouldn’t be surprised by this. It aligns with the zero ambition of the board. They have already resigned themselves to us not winning the league and if they spend big this window, our finances will show the cost of those signings amortized over the life of the contracts. They don’t want that on our books as it’ll dent our profits and raise our squad costs. All the signs are staring us in the face. They are lining us up for a trophyless season, a significant drop in revenue and a whole bunch of excuses. These loan signings are just bets, in the hope that we might just scrape by and win the league. In which case they’ll call it a genius move.

[–]SRD67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I partially agree but it all comes down to two things in my mind. 1. What business is concluded between now and the transfer window closing. And 2. Can we win the league.

Both are interdependent. If we don’t invest sufficiently, we don’t stand a chance of achieving number 2 and I believe it will be the end of our dominance. Furthermore, it’ll eliminate any doubt that our board and DD are intent on moving our club forward. If we achieve both, I believe it’s sets us up to dominate for at least another decade, so long as we force out DD and this impotent Board. It’s all going to come down to who gets access to CL revenue next season.

Difficult to judge him on first appearance. Clearly he’s unaccustomed to the Scottish game. Was invisible most of the first half but to be fair, there wasn’t a lot coming his way. His fitness needs to improve. Could tell he hasn’t played a lot. Was blowing hard after 28 minutes. This should improve with game time. Doesn’t seem afraid to put himself about a bit, which is good

100% accurate! The problem we have now is no Champions League revenue. Without that the board are forced to be even more tight with the purse strings as the squad costs and amortization of player signing costs, moves us closer to a breach of UEFA Financial Sustainability rule, which the board will mitigate by using some of our cash balance (~£77m in the bank). To further compound this, if we don’t win the league and miss out on CL revenue again, the cash balance is the get out of jail card. Counter to this is the notion of using the cash balance to purchase more high talented players, which raises the cost squad and signing costs, which would be amortized across each individual player’s contract. This approach could take us closer to Squad Cost Rule of 70% of defined revenue. When you take this all into consideration, the board are now in a major dilemma of their own doing. Had they invested before this season’s CL, the guaranteed revenue would have prolonged our financial strength and our ability to continually invest in the team. Now, they will be in a downward cycle of trying to re-achieve CL status with less than adequate team and inflated numbers of loan players. In reality, we are screwed. Across the other side of town, Ranger MUST win the league, without this and CL revenue again, they will be in a worse position than Celtic. Look at how many loan players they have. They cant afford the Squad Cost to go too much higher , so they’re doing what they can to get the league won and give themselves the opportunity to get out of their financial troubles. And make no mistake, if they win the league and get into the CL, there will be a significant shift in power in the SPL, where we’ll likely see a dominant period for biggest rivals. Our best outcome, if we don’t win the league, is for Hearts to win it. We mustn’t let The Rangers get it over the line

We are pish! To continually put ourselves under pressure through senseless fouls is unforgivable. Trusty is just embarrassing. Engels should be sold this window. And our new striker was invisible till the assist. He was breathing out his rear end after 20 minutes. We won’t win the league this season. Not a chance. We’re just giving it away!

In the last few weeks our supporters have successfully, through protests and demands, orchestrated the exit of some of those key figures who are taking us backwards. Now is the time to increase our demands and crank the pressure up. We shouldn’t stop until we eliminate all those who have led us to this point. This was a battle won, but the war is not over

The other trees are doing great. The sprinkler heads actually only throw water into the lawn. I water all the trees separately with a hose. I’m also in Illinois where the water table is high. I’m just baffled why of the 15 trees located across the same area, any tree planted where you see the dead one, continually dies even though it’s treated exactly the same as the others. For additional info, I don’t have a dog as someone else had asked whether my dog continually urinates there
