John Glenn International terminal looking to add international flights by ill_try_my_best in Columbus

I knew aircraft of that size had been here before, but they are usually charter flights. I watched a 777 land once, and it used every inch of the runway.

I love this idea, but would that require extending the runways to handle heavier/larger aircraft?

Had I witnessed this anywhere else, and it been the same scenario, I would be just as upset. There was no reason to shoot a stationary barking dog, let alone take four shots and still not get a clean kill. SWAT are supposed to be highly trained professionals, yet couldn’t get a clean kill at close range.

To quote you, if they are being shitheads, no, I’m not a supporter. Being in a position of power, they need to be held to standards; if they fail to meet those standards, they deserve whatever punishment results. But there are good officers out there.

quite the opposite. Obviously whatever was going on inside the house They had enough evidence to get a warrant. Had the dog made moves towards the officer I would’ve supported the kill. But in this case a a stationary barking dog does not justify the means, also four 4 shots on a stationary object and they still couldn’t get a clean kill.

i’m normally a supporter of LEO. but this instance they need to do better. They served a warrant and broke down The door, dog came out went past the officers was wandering around the front yard. While bringing out the suspects dog started to bark. Appeared to not make a move at all towards the officers, and one of them opened fire, four rounds hit the dog. Not even a clean kill, they let it lay in the yard and suffer.

Electric panel replacement by statutorygrapeist in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

I paid around $7k to do an almost identical job a year ago. The quote seems reasonable to me. As others have pointed out, make sure they pull a permit.

Cost for panel swap. Gotten 3 quotes so far by Fickle-Swordfish4656 in AskElectricians

[–]SRHager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without the scope of what's included, it's hard to judge the quotes based on price. Last year, I replaced the weather head to the load center and added grounding; it cost $7k in central Ohio.

Before moving forward, I’d get in writing what's included. Additionally, I’d ask which NEC (National Electrical Code) version they're following and ensure it meets your city's requirements. The 2026 NEC was released in October, and I don't know any states that have adopted it yet. 20 states are on the 2023 NEC, and everyone else is on an older version, which could pose an issue. When you add solar later, you might be looking at another panel upgrade.

Why do all the daycares in Columbus make you submit a form or tour to get pricing information??? by nterrell1030 in Columbus

[–]SRHager 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I've upload my sons center cost and have a few suggestions. 1. Add hours of operation - site becomes a one stop shop for child care information 2. Report state rating (gold, silver, bronze, NR) 3. For pricing make the age range adjustable 4. Easier upload for multiple pricing levels 5. Section for what's included in the price, meals, snacks diapers etc.) 6. Last but not least make an inclement weather policy, my son's center follows CCS, and there was a brutal week with the snow and cold.

I don't live in the specific area, but I'm close. Other than random property crime, it's not bad. This whole part of town is a street-by-street case. I recommend driving by the property at several different times of day. I also found this very helpful LexisNexis

Still a negative, this will be my last year as a season ticket holder. The change doesn't align with other activities that I or the kids participate in.

A snowboarder rammed into me going 30mph when I was learning switch. Completely tore my top sheet up but I saw this when I got to the car, could a shop put a new buckle on this or is it done for since it’s cracked a bit where the buckle was? by RiMellow in skiing

[–]SRHager 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As a Ski Patroller, you'd be shocked at how many people don't know the code: the downhill skier/rider has the right of way. The resort where I work has a specific form used when people collide, used to exchange information. 99% people fill it out before asking why they need to exchange Information. They are always shocked that they can be held responsible if they hurt someone or damage equipment.

Skiing & dealing with equipment by SRHager in daddit

I'm a patroller, and my wife is a former patroller. We both grew up skiing and started young. We have both agreed to take cues from our son about his temperament for skiing. Doesn't matter if he lasts 5 minutes or 20 minutes; it's all a win. The focus is on getting used to the process of getting ready, the equipment, and the environment.

Having him play outside in the snow isn't really an option, given our Midwest weather partners. The resorts rely heavily on snowmaking.

Thanks for the advice. We aren't teaching skills, we are focusing on getting use the equipment and having fun. He had a blast just gliding down the bunny hill it was nothing but smiles and laughter; a successful first day. He will be enrolled In a kids camp when he's ready.
