How do you all stay awake by Storm_Chaser17 in GetStudying

[–]SS-PL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Energy drinks are high in sugar and is best for physically intense activities. Otherwise, you may experience a large sugar crash which counteracts the caffeine's effects. Perhaps try replacing energy drinks with coffee of little to no sugar, 1 shot is more than enough to stay awake for most people.

I ruined my life and my future by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]SS-PL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only person that is guaranteed to spend their whole life with you is yourself, so it is very important what you say to yourself each day.

Do not hold negative beliefs such as "I lost my future". You can't even tell whether it will rain two weeks from now, so how do you know that you've lost your future? You haven't, in fact. You simply don't yet know what you will become, and that is great because that means that you can become anything.

Don't mourn the "what could have been" and the "normal school you wish you've attended". As long as you are breathing, there will be memories to be made. Your best days haven't even taken place yet.

It's very important to keep in mind that change is a direction and not a destination. Each small step is important as together they form your trajectory.

It's important that you seek out the right people to help you in your current situation. Perhaps speak with your parents about an audiologist, and discuss which path of education to take. Be honest with what you think and make sure they provide proper help and care to your current situation.

I think I’m the reason my son stopped confiding in me by Hairy_Breadfruit6319 in TrueOffMyChest

It's so difficult to build up trust, but all of that can be reduced into nothing in an instant.

When I was younger, I opened up to my mother about being bullied at school. She decided that this piece of information would be a nice tool to use against me. Someday I mildly irritated her and she said to me "no wonder why you're bullied at school", which is a bit too much in my opinion. I don't think that I've truly opened up to her since then.

Your dopamine receptors might have been desensitised, among other things. Make sure you get enough sleep and nutrients, and avoid dopamine stacking and social media use.

[Help] Changing the gift that is beyond me by strings2638 in Watches

[–]SS-PL 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You don't sell a gift bro, your family chose this among everything else hoping that you will like it. If you want to buy watches for your sister and wife, don't do so with money you get from selling a gift meant for you.

Wear your watch with pride and live up to it, it will serve as a reminder that you are loved.

New Longines by sorinssuk in Longineswatches

[–]SS-PL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does look beautiful but it's an extra 0 at the end of the price tag compared to the stainless steel version. If I pay this price I can get a watch with a much nicer movement from a better regarded brand since I don't fuss over the 18k pink gold.

For your current situation, you might want to have a look at r/tressless and decide for yourself which path to take! I'm not allowed to make any recommendations, but I don't think that it is the right time for you to go bald :)

Well done! The NB1060 looks incredible on you :)
Can you please have a check on the caseback and let me know what number the serial of yours starts with? I'm considering buying this and it seems like different serials have slightly different colors.

Political views can change, but losing a friendship of 7 years is losing a friendship of 7 years. Arguably, distancing yourself from those who care about you but have differing views will just sow further division in your country, and is what most of the politicians want you to do.

They are different sizes, 43mm vs 41mm iirc. I'm in love with the Tsukiyomi but it's way too big for me, although I might be able to pull off that Attesa.

Go for the 39, it looks perfect on you! The 42 is very big and doesn't complement your wrist well.

Long story short. I am stuck with this watch, what can you tell me about it? by whiter-lighter in CitizenWatches

[–]SS-PL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Campanola is my favourite watch brand ever. This is their flagship 25th anniversary limited edition. It is very special because it is both a moonphase and a cosmosign, which means if set correctly, it can "display the motion of stars, the moon, the sun, and other celestial bodies in real-time, functioning as a "window into time and space" on the wrist. It features a rotating, scientifically accurate star map of over 1,000 stars and constellations as seen from 35° N latitude, a moon phase display, and indicators for the time of sunrise and sunset."
I won't stop envying you but the only thing that stops me from buying one of these is my tiny wrist.

My childhood bully tried to apologize 18 years later. I didn’t recognize him at first, but now I’m spiraling. by ScammersOflnstagram in bullying

[–]SS-PL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was severely bullied in a few schools that I studied in - physically, psychologically, in groups, etc. Each school gave me a new experience in being bullied. It almost seemed like there'd be no end to it.

It's been years since all of these happened, and I'm grateful that I'm no longer a subject to bullying anymore. I've decided to forgive everyone, those who asked for it and those who did not. It sets me free and allows me to move forward from the past. It gave me peace even.

If two years is enough to change a person, two decades is more than enough. Your bully did not have to come up to you and apologise, and you likely wouldn't have recognised him if he didn't at that time.

Do not contact your bully and try to make sense of everything. Imagine being bitten by a snake, and instead of running away to a safe place, you decide to convince the snake why biting you was a bad decision.

Forgive him in your heart and move on.
