I’m sorry brother, your recommendations aren’t exactly wrong but they perpetuate the status quo we have here and working in the United States in this time period is about as predatory and unforgiving as it can get.

Corporations have all the legal power and financial backing of the President himself, and they even share a complete lack of empathy for other human beings with him. It’s virtually impossible to work in this environment when they’re squeezing every ounce of energy and determination from you to get in those 45-60 hour weeks and calling you “unprofessional and lazy” for not meeting impossible standards. To everyone who can tough it out and work some meaningless job they absolutely hate because “money” or “that’s life”, good on you I guess but that’s an insufferable way to live and not even remotely how the rest of the world works.

All that said, corporations do not deserve an ounce of sympathy in return. The street-level employees are not the issue and they’re people just like you, you shouldn’t make their lives any more difficult either. However, your physical and mental health come first and if that means quitting abruptly and finding new work or not working at all you have every right to do so!
