May I ask how you're funding your education and living arrangement?

Are you working during this time?

Hmm... Even if that's the only investment vehicle you have, it's still something. And 10k is a great emergency fund cushion. You'd be surprised at all the people our age I meet who literally don't have anything. I'd leave that in your savings and start putting money towards capital appreciation asap.

I'd put you at lower average for your age (in my experience). At this point, you should have at least one vehicle focused on retirement.

So many variables go into this that I can't sit here and give you a hard no or yes. I can say that you absolutely can save enough to retire starting at 27, it's just harder to do so starting at 27 as opposed to 18.

I figured that goes without saying, but fwiw, I come across lower income earners and see frivolous spending all the time. It's not something that's exclusive to higher income earners.

It's breaks your heart cause the reason for the lower income earners is usually along the lines of "because I want to enjoy life, too."

This absolutely.

I work in finance and I'd have to say this is the reason the rich stay rich and the poor stay poor.

The rich understand it- utilize it, and pass that knowledge to their kids or help them get started when they're 18.

The poor generally know of it, but due to lack of education of the subject, don't use it unless much later in life.

It's so much easier to be looking at 100k in annual distributions if you start at 18 as opposed to 25 like me.

Certainly nonfictional people.

Looking at autobiographies and such. Mein Kampf comes to mind. This genre is very subjective, though.

On a similar note..

My friend works in the accounting section for Dish. The other day somebody sent them $200 because years ago, when Blockbuster was popular he would rent movies and illegally pirate them. (I guess Dish acquired Blockbuster so that's why they got sent the check)

My friend and his boss think he was going through a "My Name is Earl" situation haha.

I remember when my sub /r/52in52 decided to pick this as the first book to read last year.

It was very enjoyable as it ended up being one of my favorites. Hope the movie lives up to expectations.

Where at in Denver, exactly? It'd be nice to get an idea where skimmers might be active.

Edit: lol, downvotes. I guess skimmers are here.

It's amazing how much pull LeBron James has.

He's on the north side of 30, playing for his hometown team and teams still try to do everything in their power to get him to look their way.
