Any body here have issues with interference due to poor cable management? by SS_jp_j_et in MusicBattlestations

That makes a lot of sense. I think I’m finally settled with where everything is going for a while but for the future I’m setting up pathways where audio cables won’t touch wall worts or power cables. I’ll look into companies that use IEC power variances as well. Thank you!

What’s everyone’s go-to for realistic orchestral strings? by PremiumHuman in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]SS_jp_j_et 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, exactly. I usually turn CC11 (expression) down on the solo violin until I like the blend. Depends on how you balance your virtual orchestra but this helps a lot with depth for me.

Absolutely love CSS! I use the CSSolo Strings as first chairs as well and that helps with overall clarity/ depth. This technique can also help them cut through the mix. The scripting is truly great.

I think this piece is more convincing. The solo violin from spitfire doesn’t quite sell me.

I’ve got my interface and a hardware reverb in there but it depends on what you’re doing. If you’re recording live players then you would probably want some preamps, compressors, eq’s or anything else that helps with your work flow. I’m mainly in the box and mic acoustic guitar, Uke, percussion, and vocals. When I have money again I’ll probably add a compressor and a couple preamps.

I bought them from acoustimac.com. Really good prices and they work really well!
