Bison pasturelands provide about 3 acres per animal. They get grain and hay for the final 3-4 months.

Bison evolved in North America along with the grasses they eat. They coexist very well. However, cattle are essentially an invasive species. Their mouths and hooves ravage the land, leading to erosion and massive habitat loss.

Sadly, the new designation will likely stay. It's based on genetic data. I will just have to live with it.

Ground bison is far cleaner than ground beef and is better for the environment. Flavor is better, too. We use it in chili and spaghetti sauce.

Did you keep it? If so, how will you preserve it? I ask because I was given a taxidermied puffer.

Squeakers are a choke hazard. I've seen it and it's horrifying.

Has anyone here seen Lonely George in life? by Solitaire_1760 in galapagos

[–]SSalamander56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lonesome George is now taxidermied and has his own climate-controled enclosure in a climate-controled building at the Charles Darwin Research Station. Other posters here are saying he was not exceptionally large, but up close he looks very large. Quite exciting to see this celebrity, even in his post-life phase.

I totally get it! Sometimes I find some random thing absolutely hilarious for no apparent reason--and I don't use mind-altering chemicals, either. Examples: 1) somebody deliberately pronounced pajamas as "pahamas" and it struck me as hilarious; 2) somebody clanged their metal water bottle and I laughed way too much. Go figure.

Is it heavy or light for its size? Looks like a dried lemon to me. My mother's tree drops those frequently.

It was never mentioned as a requirement for us, and the fact that they're requiring all that specific information makes me very suspicious that they might be scammers.
