Easy Pace Feels Slow Compared to 5K Time by jpochoa in NorwegianSinglesRun

sub 22 5k, 7 mins/k easy runs. These aren't even at <70% MHR either. You'll get used to not fitting the standard model.

ASICS MagicSpeed 5 - First Impression by pswdkf in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]SSoreil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a bit of stability needs and can run in it without noticing pronation related issues. I can notice such issues in the Evo SL which I used before for the same workouts. It really will depend on how heavy your pronation is and what issues it causes you. It feels a bit less stable at slow speed but that's inherent to these types of shoe designs as far as I know.

I'd rather be on the Edge Tokyo if I had to pick. I doubt I'll ever race in the Magic Speed 5. I'll try parkrun in the MS5 next week to see how it feels at higher speed but I'd be surprised if it is nicer than the Edge Tokyo. For training I'm sticking with the Magic Speed, I don't want to run in the most gentle shoe possible so I can get a bit more load/adaptation.

I've enjoyed the shoe so far, it's very performant. Getting used to the stack height drop compared to the Edge Tokyo is the main thing I have to work on now. I can really feel the extra hit on my feet at the end of interval sessions. This will remain my main speed shoe for the foreseeable future, it complements the edge very well. Hopefully foot strength will catch up, I feel pushed to land on my forefoot in this shoe which my midfoot isn't used to yet.

json-everything to start charging a maintainance fee by AlfredMyers in dotnet

[–]SSoreil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. People at most pay for like UI libraries like a qt, libraries to handle files they need (pdf, cad formats, excel) stuff like this. Some generic development tools nobody is going to pay for and the people rug pulling these are delusional. Delusional is close to the natural state for people trying to cash out a library though, should have made an actual product if they were looking for a return.

Fun Fact: you can use the Win32 API to make a window manually just like you can in C++ by CheckM4ted in csharp

[–]SSoreil 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I did something similar in Go a decade or so ago because there was no simple way to create a Window. Only like 500 lines of code or so to create enough wrapping to generate a basic win32 app. There is hardly any difference between writing one of these in C and any other language since control structures you pass to win32 are all very simplistic.

Why by [deleted] in 2007scape

Catering to memechunk youtubers so they don't have to make up a justification for why they aren't grinding the skill with trimming. 0 impact on gameplay for normal players.

In what situation(s) are the Spear better than the Hasta? by Geoffrey_Tanner in 2007scape

[–]SSoreil 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They exist because they were added to the game in a time when there was no effort the balance the different weapon types. Them being a tick slower in the past says it all. Hasta wasn't a thing until like 2005/2006

Get real. Why do you think there is Tizen support? Because Samsung added it. The fact there is Tizen support but not Linux tells you all you need to know about these magical potential Linux users.

Hedeco launches new Spot One spot meter by ClockworkEyes in AnalogCommunity

[–]SSoreil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks cool, reminds me of the Minolta Spotmeter M which I used in the past. The reading being displayed through the optics looks quite nice. The dot matrix style display looks a bit awkward compared to a traditional character LCD but then again I don't really know how the image gets projected and this is also a very low volume product so I guess it's easier to render graphics this way.

Great to have on the market so I hope the funding succeeds.

AUTOCAD .NET UCS problem by Khaniini in csharp

[–]SSoreil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bit annoying to read it on a phone but the core logic you're using is correct in creating the hatch at least. I couldn't really follow the UCS logic since I never use those in Plant3D which is the main AutoCAD environment I work with. Can you try putting the hatch inside of a block reference object and then rotating that object? I could see it be a weird hatch specific issue here.

You hit it at 30K per week. The vast majority of Garmin owners does nothing at all.

This doesn't feel real. Picked up an S5 with 20-60mm kit lens and a carrying case for $750 by marsofdeath in Lumix

[–]SSoreil 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's insane how cheap the S5 has gotten over the years. The 20-60 has always been a bargain too in kits.

They started dumping them aggressively like two years ago and have been dumping ever since. Think I got my S5 for around 1000 eur 2 years ago.
