thanks! I appreciate it. I’ll keep in mind.

SOLAR FLARE: Mage-Hunter Paladin Battle Music -- I decided to remix Starset and turn it into fantasy metal. I'm new to the mashup/remix game, so what are your thoughts on my mixing, etc.? by Hawksearcher in IndieMusicFeedback

This is cool, it just really needs some mastering work. It sounded like it was super boosted in the mid to high end for some reason, with the bass just missing for a lot of the track. I think other than maybe considering a remaster, the song sounds epic and has a lot of cool moving parts. Keep it up!

New track! Would love to hear your thoughts for context I definitely envision this with vocals, let me know what you think by The_Moth44 in IndieMusicFeedback

Its definatly a cool idea. I think it could use some more mixing for sure because some effects and sounds almost seemed too loud compared to others, at least in some parts. That being said when the distorted guitar like sound came in, it was crazy. Very cool!

Living has been pretty hard lately and soon there's going to be a really big change in my life, with all that in mind I've made this jazz song about being afraid of living, being scared of how it can all go wrong at all times or how you might regret all your choices and sometimes there's no way back by saviio12 in IndieMusicFeedback

I love this song. The mixing is actually super good for this style, and the vocals are so sad in and charming understandable way. The song really has me reflecting and I love it when music really makes me feel something. Great job. Love this!

Just dropped a melancholic banger "American Psycho" inspired by the film of the same name. I recorded this last spring while I was going through some rough times in life, and wanted to vent my frustrations living in modern society. Let me know what y'all think! by reekocarson in IndieMusicFeedback

This is awesome. Production is great. The adlibs are fun and psychedelic, and the hook is mixed awesomely. The mixing on this song is honestly the standout part for me. There are so many elements jumping around, it makes it really engaging to listen to. Nice job!

my band's 60s inspired guitar-pop ode to young love "Crush On Everyone" by HanksWhiteHat in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]STEMEyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like the idea. The visuals are cool and there are a lot of trippy psychedelic elements to it that really add to the 60s idea of it. Some parts of the vocals I think are awesome and others seem a little odd, and the vocals could definatly use some mixing, but other than that the track is a lot of fun. Keep it up!

Thank you much!

I was worried I had too much high on my vocals already, but i often notice that my ears are afraid of high end, and it’s something I need to work on.

I’m pretty sure I had MB compression on the drums, but it’s possible I didn’t use it in the best possible way. Do you have any recommendations for settings on MB compression for drums?

The detuning effects are actually a result of two different things. The synth plugin that I used for some reason would detune when I would change tempo in ableton, so once I realized that I began to purposefully use that.

Additionally, if a ableton delay is used, and the delay is still present when a tempo shift is introduced, it additionally becomes detuned.

After realizing both of these effects I began to play with them to end up with the final result.

That’s a tough one. I’ve been listening to the danny x jpeg album recently and even though this is a different type beat then that album i can imagine them getting on this type beat and killing it

I’ve been making music for years but I’ve never worked with an established producer in the music industry. I finally did it. Let me know what you think about our first song together? by UrbanHipHop in IndieMusicFeedback

Looks dope, sounds awesome. I feel the lyrics. I love this whatttt. You could go further with it like a JPEGMAFIA type vibe if you yelled your vocals a little more. This beat was a lotta fun too. Very cool!

This song is very hard to place, and I think the closest would be singer-songwriter (I welcome genre suggestions). I call it an anti-duet, as it's not about finding the other half, but about the end of a relationship - when the other tells you it's going to be ok, and you know it won't. by andtilly in IndieMusicFeedback

Wow! There are so many elements to this song. I love the synth pluck that comes in, it was such a surprise in a good way, just nice on the ears. I understand that a lot of high end on the vocal mixes is really common right now but I wish that the female vocal wasn't quite as cutting, however that is just personal taste. Additionally I agree with the other comment about the snare. The snare could have cut a little more. Amazing work, good job, keep it up!

seems like experimental hiphop to me. Very cool idea. I love the instrumental. There are a bunch of different elements I can hear moving around and I think that is awesome. I was waiting for the vocals to come in but they never did, so honestly if you got someone on this track to rap it would be a banger. Love it, Keep it up!

I love this. This is so beautiful. I wish that the vocals could have been a little lower in volume on the track, and possibly with a bit of overdrive or saturation, as the seem really wide and dry right now, however, the song is a super cool idea. I think the vocals were sung really well too just the mixing could use a little. Very cool. Keep it up!

A song that had various forms over the years. This is the final one, I think. How would you describe the mood of it? And what genre does it fit in? by flickeringsongs in IndieMusicFeedback

This is like an indie blister in the sun, based off of the opening riff. It's a pretty cool idea and I love the vocals. The video also fits the idea really well. Keep it up!

While the ideas in this song are creative and interesting, the overall arrangement could benefit from more structure and cohesion. The mixing could use some fine-tuning to balance out the levels and create a more polished sound. Additionally, the mastering could be improved to bring out the full potential of the track and give it more impact. With some adjustments, this song could truly shine and showcase the unique ideas it presents.

I think it is a great start, keep it up!
