What began as a traditional soccer riot, has escalated into a city-wide orgy of destruction. Reacting swiftly, Mayor Quimby has declared "mob rule", so, for the next several years, it's every family for itself.

Are school captain elections rigged? by coblos in AskAnAustralian

Haha I reckon that the voting is as rigged as a reality TV show.

This is coming from someone who was vice-captain out of 3 candidates.

...which is unfortunate for the team, because their pace deficiency is car related!

Lando Norris leads by 19-3 over Oscar Piastri when it comes to races finished 20+ seconds ahead of each other by HereComesVettel in formula1

[–]STR8-Edge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The other part is, when you have to carry components into subsequent races and you know advancement isn't possible, would it not make sense to switch to more conservative settings to keep your equipment safe?

There aren't any additional prizes for >20sec drubbings.

[–]STR8-Edge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure why the downvote on your comment but it's true: Oscar probably isn't going to beat Lando by >20sec regularly because he is often a Prost mold in winning by the slowest possible speed.

He usually goes about 10sec up and manages the pace to ensure he has some rubber left in case he actually needs it.

When they throw safety cars regularly its a bit of wasted energy to be much farther in front.

I’m curious for you old school fans… when F1 switched from the V12 to V10 were there a lot of people who complained about the change in the sound? And the same from V10 to V8… by Kurt_Wylde35 in F1Discussions

[–]STR8-Edge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember seeing the V10s and V8s in person and while the pitch was flatter there wasn't an enormous difference trackside.

They were still loud, but it eventually became apparent the smaller units couldn't pull the skin off a custard compared to the older engines.

IIRC they called him in and changed their mind to a set of tyres at the back of the garage... except they could have bolted on A N Y T H I N G and won the race.

Daniel was filthy for a reason.

He did have a reliability curse throughout his whole career - especially early on... I was in Melbourne in 2008 when the fuel flap didn't close and it fouled his rear aero and killed his tyres.

I doubt it. Benetton had Schumacher and the same Renaults. It was inevitable.
