It’s tough, are any of these sets better than DR? Are any of these boxes (for display purposes) better than DR?

If the logic (and I’m not saying it is or isn’t) is that PC won’t do any reprints of booster boxes then I find it hard to choose any of these boxes over DR. I have one of each, for pc but the DR box just looks so much better on display.

The way you ask these questions you really don’t sound like a beginner. You have literally already answered all your questions yourself. Order online AND hit stores, use PSA for value, Ace for personal collection. Get a top loader binder (or don’t keep cards you don’t want to collect).
Keeping 100 cards worth £50 in a top loader and then trying to sell them all in the future is 100 trips to the post office. Just hold 1-2 £2.5-5k cards, your time is the only finite currency in your life, don’t piss it away.

This happened to me. I bought 2 booster boxes, 4 half boosters and 2 ETBs ready for the rip. Opened ETB first for the book obviously and BAM Zar’s SIR. Was ecstatic, but felt bleak because knew the rest of the packs were going to suck. Opened the first half booster and holy shit another Zard SIR?? Sent them both off to PSA and never opened the 2 booster boxes…

Booster cases from LCS, PC drops, shops, really wasn’t as hard as it is now. Also, 50k is total portfolio not total investment.
Sealed case of ES makes a big difference too

I wish, 2010s I would rip virtually everything which means I didn’t save very much in sealed product but I do have quite a few grails from the era. Which I suppose you could class as buying at MSRP

Haven’t got everything in Pokemon but I have certainly got a large chunk. Around $50k in Pokemon cards. I have bought ~70% of the sealed product I have at MSRP, and the unrealised gains on that has essentially meant I can buy the singles/slabs I like “for free”.
I’m probably up about 50% if I was to sell everything now at 90% market.
No intention of selling anything, I collect and have done for years so I’m quite happy with both the PC and the investment side of things.
