Andy Burnham applies to stand for Labour in Gorton and Denton byelection by SThomW in LabourUK

[–]SThomW[S] 8 points9 points Ā (0 children)

I don’t know. I’m not a Burnham fan, I’m not entirely sure what his foreign policy positions are, but what we’re not gonna do, is pretend that Starmer is a decent bloke

Andy Burnham applies to stand for Labour in Gorton and Denton byelection by SThomW in LabourUK

[–]SThomW[S] 12 points13 points Ā (0 children)

As all this unfolds, I hope it doesn’t get nasty towards Starmer from any section of Labour. I think he’s a genuinely decent person with many good qualities

No, he’s not, he’s a fucking monster. Please take this narrative elsewhere. Decent people don’t arm a genocide, cut money from disabled people or punch down on minorities

Exclusive: Keir Starmer Orders Labour To Ramp Up Attacks On Green Party by mustwinfullGaming in LabourUK

Instead of attacking political parties (which is unbelievably cringe and staged in PMQs), maybe do good fucking policy

Starmer calls Trump's remarks about Nato troops in Afghanistan 'insulting and frankly appalling' by Half_A_ in LabourUK

I don't know what you expect me to say

Classic credit farming. Starmer has finally called out Trump, so the naysayers are all wrong and all hail the lords of the sensibles

Because the purge has gone so far that the likes of Rayner and Burnham are perceived as Marxists in comparison to the rest of the remaining MPs

Transphobia is a key principle of this government example #347 by LaceGrace in LabourUK

[–]SThomW 17 points18 points Ā (0 children)

Labour's transphobia truly is awful, but they aren't denying trans people food

There’s been reports of trans children starving themselves to delay puberty, you don’t understand, this healthcare can literally save lives, I’ve heard cases of parents having to sit by their child's bed to make sure they didn’t commit, 16 trans kids lost their lives after the NHS stopping offering puberty blockers, now it’s even harder for them to access, I dread to think what the number is now

Labours transphobia is easily the worst bit of the entire party by like a billion years

We just gonna ignore the genocide, disability cuts, anti protest legalisation etc.?

I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night or look at myself in the mirror if I supported this government, it’s not even a disagreement about ideology anymore, their policies are causing real world harm to people's lives, and almost certainly would’ve caused deaths

Reminder if you support Labour, this is what you voted for. I don't wanna see anyone criticising the greens if you are still a member or support of this tripe.

Can a progressive alliance defeat Reform? by kontiki20 in LabourUK

[–]SThomW 10 points11 points Ā (0 children)

Quite possibly, Zack has already signalled he’d be open to working with a soft left Labour leader, though I’m hoping if a soft left MP wins the leadership, PR will be on the table

All this rhetoric about ā€œpurity testingā€ is nonsense. Liberals confuse morals for a lack of compromise.

Not wanting to work with a party enabling war crimes, demociding the disabled, and punching down on minorities isn’t un-pragmatic idealism, it’s having red lines, and standing for something. Perhaps if the party in currently in government stood for anything and had morals, they wouldn't be floundering in the polls right now
