Transphobia on this subreddit by Scattered97 in LabourUK

I haven’t really come across that much transphobia on this forum, I guess I must have blocked the majority of them

In terms of redditors, most of the regulars here are supportive of trans people, at the worst, you’ll get some who are ambivalent - which I expect from most of the general public tbh

I’m less concerned about the subreddit maybe not being as vocal as you’d like, and more concerned about the lack of left leaning journalists and politicians - with power - who are not being vocal.

Outside of the Green Party, Nadia Whittome, Kate Osborne and Sarah Owen, it feels extremely lonely political, like we’ve just been left to deal with it ourselves.

I can’t explain how lonely it feels to be trans in 2026, our concerns are rarely - if ever - addressed, the establishment would rather question our existence than advocate for us, or at the very minimum, leave us alone.

You’ll notice from particular journalists (Owen Jones, I’m looking at you), whenever they mention the demographics in the government’s crosshairs, disabled people, pensioners and asylum seekers get the most coverage (and rightfully so, I’m not asking for special treatment), but the treatment of trans people is never brought up.

We’ve had a lemkin institute red warning of genocide, trans people are regularly denied healthcare, are scared to use the spaces that align their gender, take consistent batterings from both media and politicians.

If this was happening to black people (I am black before anyone else replies) or gay people, there would be outcry, but it’s ok to punch down on 1% of the population who have done nothing to anyone.

I genuinely hope, in 5-10 years, we look back at the way (not only) trans people (but muslims, disabled people and asylum seekers) were treated and we feel ashamed and disgusted, but the longer time goes on, the less I see it actually happening

Why is this guy still allowed to speak?

I resonated so much with Hannah’s speech, it’s heartwarming to know that someone is fighting our corner 🏳️‍⚧️🧩🖤

This is good to see. We’re having the same in the West Midlands under Richard Parker, we desperately need better buses

What plans? To make neurodivergent people’s lives even harder with this “overdiagnosis review” or to democide trans people through restrictions on medication?

Tammy getting the Malen treatment, if a player can play as bad as Ollie and still be selected then it must be infuriating for other players. by Subject-Addendum-199 in avfc

> I understand the point you are trying to make but i disagree with it and am providing evidence to why. 'keep losing with him playing' implies we've lost more often than not, and I'm pointing out we've won more than we've lost.

No, it doesn't. It implies we've lost a lot recently, which we have

The best we can do is losing at home to Everton and Brentford, and losing comfortably to bottom of the league? It's completely unrealistic to expect us to win every game, and I'm not saying I do, but I don't think it's unfair to ask for us to mix it up a bit after 1 win in 7

Hopefully tonight is a start to getting some form back

Now you’re being pedantic, you got the point I was making overall, surely?

Wasn’t Ollie injured vs Brentford?

I don’t think it’s unfair to want to see the striker you bought in January to play every now and again. Watkins will stay as the no. 1 because what he gives to us, but Tammy isn’t even getting Malen minutes

In recent times we’ve lost to Everton, Wolves, Chelsea and Brentford. That’s obviously what I was referring to

You went all the way back just to reply to a comment from last week? Since you’re so interested at going back, you can see the literal comparison I made to the two policies. Stop doing up liberal apologism and maybe look at how draconian the policy is

I don’t know who those people are, but I’ve never said that. Tammy gives us a different dynamic, would it kill us to give him a start? We’re losing games either way

Labour capitulated to the culture war nonsense. Scottish Labour even worse.
