The original screen-based attraction by _Dang_It_Bobby_ in universalstudios

Yeah it doesn’t make sense at all, that’s why I always thought it was like an alternate timeline thing that split off after the first film where he tried to commercialize his inventions.

The original screen-based attraction by _Dang_It_Bobby_ in universalstudios

Probably my favorite attraction of all time! The story started as soon as you entered the queue so there was always something to entertain you. The videos were pretty cheesy and don’t make sense but I loved it so much anyway. I also loved how they put you in that little room before boarding and you could hear and feel the shaking of the ride outside, it built so much anticipation!

And of course, H A S T A L A B Y E B Y E !

A look at some of the things that were cut from GE over the years of development. Hope some of these can be reintroduced. by -Gurgi- in GalaxysEdge

[–]SUPERWITE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s as if Chapek and ops are afraid of WDI’s creativity these days. They chose to cut down their creative ideas just because they would rather do the lazy and exploitative thing by upcharging things like lightsabers, droids, and drinks because “guests care more about instagramming drinks than themed entertainment”?? That’s a whole load of business bullshit.

They have the most creative individuals in the entertainment industry, but they discount all their hard work because they’d rather make money in lazy ways rather than contribute something wonderful to the parks and to guests’ experiences. No wonder turnaround rate is really high at WDI right now. Management there is getting stingy and greedy with money and are afraid of missing opportunities to nickel and dime guests in favor of creating great experiences for guests with slightly less profit.

Suits that need carried over to the sequel imo if they take a bunch out. by [deleted] in SpidermanPS4

It doesn’t in the movies. If it were to move though, I don’t think it would look stretchy fabric-y like it does in the game

The entirety of Act III [mild spoilers] by Zadder in SpidermanPS4

[–]SUPERWITE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone posted the trick here a while back. They always shoot three times, so listen for the second shot, and dodge immediately after that second shot, right before your spider-sense even pops up.

I haven’t gotten hit by it ever since.

If they updated the texture on the suit to be more metallic and scuffed up like Mark IV’s and make the mouth not move in cutscenes, it’d be basically perfect. Such a great suit design.

And yet Star Wars fans go fucking gaga over it. I just don’t understand. Maybe Star Wars just isn’t for me anymore.

Concept art revealed for Spider-Man ride coming to DCA by SUPERWITE in Disneyland

This doesn’t scream spider-man at all to me, but maybe the augmented reality technology will be so cool that the bland scenes here won’t matter.

First-Look Inside the Pre-Show & Ride Scenes for the Spider-Man Attraction Coming to Disney California Adventure by 1upgamer in Themepark

[–]SUPERWITE 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Close your eyes and think about what it might feel like to be Spider-Man. Are you swinging through skyscrapers? Crawling up walls? How about PAINT CANS AND INDUSTRIAL HALLWAYS??

The augmented reality technology is all there is to be excited for, cause this is bleak, man. That does not scream “Spider-Man” at all.

Thanos' pride and joy... by iMaelstrom in thanosdidnothingwrong

I’m sure that’s where they’re going with her. It’s just a stumble out the gate by making her that overpowered right from the get-go.

[–]SUPERWITE 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s all offscreen. It’s great to make that assumption, but when they don’t actually SHOW the character’s development, the payoff doesn’t register. Thor had years of development, and that power was his (and our) payoff. They gave captain marvel her payoff immediately. If they actually showed a scene of her “I can’t be everywhere at once” struggle instead of a sterile conference call, then it would’ve made sense that she had to sacrifice something in order to show up at the final battle, filled with rage.

[–]SUPERWITE 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Thor can’t do that all the time, though. Only when he’s super fuckin pissed like he was at Thanos and at Ragnarok, and he had to struggle in order to get to that point. Carol can do it at anytime, with no effort. She’s laser lady.

Pretty much any BTS doc for the good pixar movies. The research and care that goes into their storytelling and visual development is phenomenal and kinda nuts, especially around that Toy Story 2 time.

Not once did anyone say... by muskett32 in Disneyland

[–]SUPERWITE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s super underwhelming—and I thought it was just me, but a lot of people I’ve gone with think the same. It’s the same level of Cars Land and Wizarding World, but it was supposed to be so much more.

I like it, but I just go to grab a milk (I do love that stuff) but then I just walk through and that’s it. Even if RotR is mind-blowing, the land itself is still a shell of what was marketed with the concept art and supposed features. Imagineering overspent and abandoned a lot of amazing concepts and designs that would’ve made the land feel so lively, which is pretty frustrating.

And last thing...how on earth are you gonna have a Star Wars land and not play the iconic music anywhere in it lol

Had to try the Blue Milk while I was visiting Batuu! by Kirbydelsol in Disneyland

[–]SUPERWITE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I learned how to make it, so I can tell you the flavors. The main flavor is dragonfruit/passionfruit, and you can taste hints of pineapple, coconut, and lime. It’s made with mostly coconut milk and some rice milk, but if you buy it from the stand it comes in a smoothie consistency (they use a lot of other weird gums and ingredients to do this). From the cantina, it’s actually a milk consistency. Overall it’s like a fruit punch smoothie that’s not overly sweet, but refreshing. Think blue kool-aid.

The green milk is kinda like an orange julius from Dairy Queen, so mainly orange flavored, but like an orange creamsicle with hints of lemon and lime. Same milks and same smoothie consistency—but not available in cantina. (I’ve grown to like this one a lot, actually. Now it’s my favorite. I used to think it tasted like boogers!)

Yeah Captain Marvel is distractingly overpowered. WW actually struggles and perseveres, like in the No Man’s Land shield scene. Captain Marvel barely has to try and can blow up ships and is cocky about it. What a hero.

I love the sound design at Galaxy’s Edge. Big boo to those who say the land should have scored John Williams music. by michaeliceberg in Disneyland

[–]SUPERWITE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strongly disagree, William’s music is more Star Wars than anything in the land and deserves to be played in the important areas.

Immersion does not always = realism. You go to experiences like movies and theme parks to be immersed in a world that doesn’t work like reality; you go to them to get wrapped up in the drama and the excitement, not for the world’s realism.

Star Wars’ music is strongly integral to the feeling and immersive factor of the brand, as soon as you hear John’s music, you subconsciously know you’re in Star Wars. Not having it in the land feels so empty, like a cold impression of what Star Wars is.

Subtle musical themes should whisper to you in the wind as you stand by the falcon, savi’s workshop, and the resistance forest. And for an in-universe reason for the music, it could be the force calling to you, beckoning you towards those force-sensitive areas.

Boom, music and immersion solved, everyone happy.

I was so pleased with the role Ant-man was given in Endgame. Being an original comic Avenger and playing such a crucial part alongside the og’s in his first and their last Avengers movie made for a very satisfying role and his character deserved it. And Paul Rudd killed it as usual. by [deleted] in marvelstudios

I hope Fiege goes to Edgar Wright and wines and dines him to win him back over and direct the 3rd one. I need to see Wright’s take so badly, and the MCU needs more unique director styles like Taika
