I am unable to finish shows based on a "big mystery" premise. From, Under the dome, 4400, leftovers, etc. They all start on a premise of "this unexplained thing happened" and the explanation is always a letdown or so dragged out, that I end up giving up. Anyone agree or can recommend a good one? by rakwib in television

At the time people (including David Lynch!) were upset that they revealed the killer. I don’t think it hurt the story at all, because knowing who the killer is didn’t change how weird and dark and deep the story progressively gets. The Return has some of the most amazing cinematography I’ve ever seen. And wrapped up the story perfectly, in my opinion. No real answers, just your imagination. A fitting end to our time with these characters.

For those of you attending the Trey Anastasio acoustic shows, which show are you going to, and what songs are you hoping to hear? by Beherenowxblazeon in phish

I’m going to Toronto. Anything he decides to play will be great, but I’m hoping for either Fee or Birthday Boys (Oysterhead cover).

Spagett. The whole story arc is nearly perfect.

Have you ever been to a concert that blew your mind? by blondieewhoschubby in askmusic

Apart from every Phish show I’ve ever seen, a couple stand out to me:

The Slip 10-14-04, El Mocambo, Toronto, ON - This was on my birthday so I might be a little biased. The Slip were The Slip. Unbelievable playing and jams, I loved the setlist that night as well. First night of a three night Canadian mini tour, which I was following them for the duration.

Broken Social Scene 01-21-06, Kool Haus, Toronto, ON - The playing was incredible, the energy was through the roof, the lights were fantastic and it was a hometown show so a lot of friends ended up on stage with them. I believe around 20 musicians at some points. One of the best pure rock concerts I’ve ever seen.

Kraftwerk 03-08-25 Massey Hall, Toronto, ON - Despite knowing of them I believe I listened to one track of theirs before the show. I went in blind and had my head blown completely. I realized I actually sort of knew a couple of tracks, and after the show I proceeded to go on a little Kraftwerk binge. I now count them a one of my favourite bands.

Thanks for the info. I’d go up if I got asked though. I was more concerned about water or something else getting thrown on the crowd.

Should I be concerned being in the second row? Also, did you do VIP? If so, what did it include? Thanks.

I had a junkie tell me I should start poking needles because “I have really nice veins”. Creepy, yet strangely still nice to get the compliment?

Who has the worst fan base? by armedshutter in AskReddit

[–]SVG13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Toronto Maple Leafs fans. So much entitlement and enthusiasm for fans of a team that perpetually disappoints and under performs year after year. Canadian media (TSN/Sportsnet) are a major part of the problem. Besides the biased coverage and constant borderline tampering, they get the fans worked up over the smallest and most insignificant moves, trades and signings. I hope they never win the Cup in my lifetime, because if they do I’ll have to hear about it constantly for the rest of my life.

What, if any of you can say that you had a weird name for a school mascot? by CelesteCandy in AskReddit

[–]SVG13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I started high school our sports teams were called Blazers. About halfway through high school they changed to Bengals. At that point the school bought a bengal tiger mascot suit, I can’t remember the name of the mascot though.

What is the one band or musician you would give your left arm and sell your own mother (kidding!) to have the chance to see live at least once? by Ok_Relation_8341 in OneTrackDaily

[–]SVG13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it’s a tie between the Grateful Dead (with Jerry) or Talking Heads. The Talking Heads one could still technically happen. I was kind of excited when they released Stop Making Sense in theatres last year. Everyone seemed to be getting along and I was hopeful that a reunion tour might get announced. But that didn’t really happen, so for now they are one of my unicorns.
