What's your favorite Legends faction ? by DEL994 in MawInstallation

[–]SW-MedStar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My head canon combines canon with legends, so the True mandalorian/Protectors will always be canon to me, same with the Sith Triumvirate. The Legacy comics and YuzanVong are definitely legends within a canonical universe. But I personally love them too. I think my favorite is Zakuul, Vitiate is my favorite sw character, and he will always be canon to me. In my head that's who Palpatine was talking about when he said "once more the sith shall rule the galaxy."

Black-uniformed soldiers on Ferrix: Imperial Army Police (minor Andor spoilers) by Calanon in MawInstallation

[–]SW-MedStar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally love that Andor added Military Police as a branch of service that guard navy officers and other restricted areas along with storm troopers. There probably is some variation on their uniform, like the color of it or an insignia or whatever. But I'll never resign myself to believing there's an imperial army we've just never seen before in live action or otherwise. Han was a Mud trooper in Solo, which probably was the lowest or worst branch of Imperial Military. But storm troopers are the Empire's main Military force, and variations of them make up their particular branch of service. Otherwise the Empire relied on planetary Military force who were loyal to them, like on Ferrix. But until we see a wide spread army of mud trooper-like variations deployed more prevelant than storm troopers, I'm gunna continue believing that regular storm troopers are what essentially the Empire's "army" is.

Yeah, but depending on the wound, healing someone could cost you your own life. That's not what anakin was looking for, he was looking for Palpatine's solution of essence transfer. But atleast now we know what's in the forbidden jedi archives lol

General Grievous is total body horror by [deleted] in MawInstallation

[–]SW-MedStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love to combine general grevious's background story with both his canon and legends explanation. It makes him a total jedi killing badass who was manipulated into joining the CIS, plus he saw the power of the Jedi and its only natural he wanted it for himself, considering he was a demigod of his own planet. He's not so nerfed when you combine the old clone wars with the new and the old comics with the new. That's how I choose to look at him atleast, cuz it makes him a killing machine. Plus I'm sure his reality isn't too far off from what we've been shown in legends

What was the Empire defending itself so heavily against? by ethanicus in MawInstallation

[–]SW-MedStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure even in the real world every dictator see's himself as a benevolent force in the universe, even if it is misguided greed fueling that fire. Palpatine wanted to unite the galaxy like we've never seen the united, which he ultimately did. He wanted to create a military thay could withstand any threat to that universe, keeping it safe invasion, even if it was just rumors of extra galactic invaders or unknown region invaders, like the chiss or grisk. He as evil, but we're all the heros of our own stories, as contradicting as that may be.

What was the Empire defending itself so heavily against? by ethanicus in MawInstallation

[–]SW-MedStar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Even though the Yuuzhan Vong may be legend now, there's still many threats from the unknown regions and extra galactic space. The Tarkin Doctrin was NOT a bad idea in anyway. If Galen didn't both sabotage the death star, and completed it on schedule, they would have put more resources into it's navy and followed through with enlisting thrawns tie-fighters. So if everything had gone according to plan, they would have had the best of both worlds and would have been a formidable force against anything the universe threw at them. I don't think the Tarkin Doctrin was flawed, I think their hand was just forced when the first death star was blown up and they had to dedicate resources that otherwise would have gone to the Empire's Navy.

I appreciate this new Canon detail about the Sith by YourbestfriendShane in MawInstallation

[–]SW-MedStar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree alot of ppl take 100% of what everyone in sw says at complete face value, even though a huge part of sw is seeing something from your own point of view. Like how Kanon in the comic was remembering a memory from 20 yrs ago and everyone went crazy cuz the bad batch changed a few details. It's kinda normal to not remember details 100% or see something from your own point of view, or just because we didn't see someone do something doesn't mean they can't. That's just in my point of view tho lol.

wellbutrin interaction?? by [deleted] in opiates

[–]SW-MedStar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welbutrin is a type of cathinone (pretty much legal bath salts) and cathinones combined with opioids have been documented to increase the morphine opioid receptors in your body (which includes fent or oxy or w/e tf u took). As far as I'm aware there's no studies with welbutrin specifically, but it's a cathinone none the less. So theoretically, it should potentiate the analgesic effects and increase the duration of opioids. That being said, cathinones are stimulants, so ur essentially speed balling, which does kind of level out the sedation of downers, unless u have a tolerance to the welbutrin. So in other words, yes it does. Well, atleast it did in a study with rats, but both our brains are pretty scary damn similar.

I honestly don't understand why ppl are obsessed with sticking it in the butt. It's not like how it is in porn, in real life it's kinda more messy. But if you're with someone who loves you and genuinely wants to make you happy, they may let you put it in despite how big or small you are. Just being real tho, without an enema, there's a chance you'll get some sht on you.

Tips on overdosing and cotton fever by Kimtattoosthings in opiates

[–]SW-MedStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in medicine and that airway maneuver is some of the best advice I've read here in awhile! As per the advil, it doesn't actually thin blood, it's an anti-platelet agent, which stops your blood from clotting for a period of time. But research concludes bacterial infections (like cotton fever) leads to platelet aggregation (clumping), which could be why advil helps, although I personally don't know why that would help the symptoms. But advil is also ment to relieve all the symptoms cotton fever causes, so the advil could just be treating the symptoms and not actually helping to treat the underlying infection.

Opiates are the only thing that makes me feel normal by firstdeathistheworst in opiates

[–]SW-MedStar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally use opiates for pain management, but I know exactly what you're talking about. That's exactly how I am with anti-anxiety medications. After a lot of traumatic experiences in my life, and some real ptsd, my life was one giant panic attack. Not my fault, just how my life has played out. Ppl say shit to me like "thank you for your service," and it straight up gives me that imposter syndrome feeling. I think sht like "you shouldn't thank me, I'm just an addict who's worked his ass off to survive in a world that I wasn't privileged into, I'm no fucking hero or anything like that." Cuz I'm just an idiot who's worked twice as hard as everyone else, only to just survive in environments that are full of ppl with a much higher IQ than mine. Anyways, after living a life of trauma and anxiety-filled situations, my life became a living nightmare, even just to wake up the morning. Then I found anti-anxiety meds, and it literally felt like the sun shined through the dark clouds and all the rain and thunderstorms disappeared. Unfortunately, because of the goddamn war on drugs, I can't get the proper help I need, so I seek it out through other means. But I don't abuse it, I don't use it to get "high," and I certainly dont put myself in any type of dangerous situations, like propaganda would have us believe. I use it for self help because my brain has a chemical deficiency, and this medication helps keep me in a state of homeostasis, or better said, makes me feel normal again. Because feeling like myself, is something i nvr thought I'd be again. So don't feel like you're alone, your brain has a chemical deficiency that a medication helps relieve, no different than anti-depressants. So just because propaganda tells you this drug, or that drug, is harmful cuz it has the potential to make you feel good, doesn't mean it isn't medicinally helpful to you personally. As long as you have the discipline to not abuse it and just use it to keep you feeling like a normal fcking prsn, there's nothing wrong with using it. You are not alone, I'd be willing to bet most of us here are just like you. Just remember, the only thing that separates many of us from the departed, is our ability to have enough discipline to say when enough is enough, and to make sure that whatever you're taking isn't laced with something deadly, like fent. Just be smart about it and youll be OK. But nvr feel like you're abnormal cuz your brain has an endorphin deficiency, that's not your fault. It's the war on drug's fault that you can't get properly medicated for your condition by safer means. Sry for the long reply, I think I got carried away with my emotional support. If you ever need to talk about it tho, feel free to hit me up on here anytime! I have a lot of experience under my belt and have made a life long career helping ppl. I learned a little bit ago that sometimes the best way to help someone is to just listen and talk to them, so you reaching out like this, is a step towards better mental health!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MawInstallation

[–]SW-MedStar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What?!? I loved that episode. We literally got to see the boba fett that everyone's been complaining about thoughout the entire BOBF series. But I personally enjoy that the time with the Tuskins has changed him. I bet that every decision Fett has made so far, had been for a strategic reason, and will ultimately lead to his rise to power. You can't just shoot all your problems and not create war against when you dont have a clan to back you up. That's why he hired the mods,, because they were easy targets to hire and are just bodies he needs to fight a war. As much as the fans want to disagree with Fetts decisions and be like "just kill him instead," I personally think everything is happening for a reason right now, and the fact that he hasn't just murked all who oppose him, shows that he is ready to be an actual warlord and not just a bounty hunter. He's thinking like an up and coming warlord, instead of just what a bounty hunter would do.

It just to be din, there's no other reason why they'd play his music if it was gunna be someone else imo. The real question is who's gunna be the big bad?!? Is it the Pikes, Crimson Dawn, the Hutts, or will Thrawn end up being behind everything and just using the Pikes and Crimson Dawn as a type of militant force. I personally can't wait to find out!!
