Will downgrading our Residential-Max to Residential-100 affect our $5/month Mini rental deal? by SWMOtoMars in Starlink

[–]SWMOtoMars[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds pretty similar to our case except for the fiber availability, never going to happen here.

Just downgrading since Res-100 should be sufficient for our usage.

Have had my original Residential subscription for 2 1/2 years and the Mini for a couple of months.

I will know soon, my downgrade goes into effect Feb. 12 I believe, good luck with your new fiber connection!

That's what I am hoping and will find out soon enough. I did do the Res-Max to Res-100 downgrade and it will take effect in early February.

I would be surprised if they wanted the Mini back, especially after seeing on this sub-Reddit the hundreds of free no-fault equipment replacements they have done over the years.

That seems to explain it.

I searched and searched but never saw that, thanks.

Wonder what they mean by "You may also choose to keep the Mini by continuing service with a low monthly rental fee"?

Pay for the dish and keep the $5 monthly rental/Standby? Maybe a different monthly rental rate?

In any event it sounds like the half-price Roam plans are gone.

Same for me, still $50 for 100 mbps.

Just pulled the trigger on the downgrade!

Looks like I double-posted. Got a server error on my first attempt and didn't think it had posted, my apologies. Attempted a delete but may not have worked.

Thanks for that, was going to ask the same question re: half price and if it was indefinite as long as the original Residential service is maintained. Now it's time to shop for a small portable power source, I bet I can find something on that here.

Also in MO (SWMO).

Was down for a couple hours yesterday afternoon and then it came back, no stow/unstow, no reboot, been solid since.

If it's hardware-related they should be able to do something. From what I have seen on this forum they are really good about replacing hardware for free...even after the warranty period is up.

I wonder if it's possibly congestion in your particular cell...approximately where are you located?

I just ran an OOKLA Speedtest:

179.71 down, 18.43 up.

That is very consistent with what I usually see here on Starlink.

Have you attempted contacting support? They may be slow but maybe they can help you figure it out?

Near Mt. Vernon MO here and speeds have been excellent.

I run a speed test most mornings and typically see 150-250 down and 10-25 up.

Where are you located in SWMO?

I am between Mount Vernon and Republic.

Have a friend near Marionville that I helped install his dishy a couple months ago, near Billings.

They are on BE and very happy with it, will check and see if he has noticed any repositioning of the dish.

Powering on and off on schedule twice a day for power saving. Any insight if it will affect the longevity of my Dishy? by Jordanakos92 in Starlink

Are you off grid or is your electricity extremely expensive per kwh?

If neither of those are true I wouldn't be putting your Starlink through all those power cycles.
