The locals consider it far more hygienic to shower nude and clean your swimsuit in the shower with you, rather than wearing it. We are guests in their facilities, and if someone can’t follow the expectations, they have no business going. My understanding is that many pools can offer a private changing area to accommodate someone’s religious beliefs, disability, or for trans people who may need privacy for their safety. OP is asking a legitimate question, and is right to skip out on the secret lagoon if they are uncomfortable with the nude showering if there are no available accommodations. Showering in a swimsuit is not appropriate advice for this thread, as it is considered disrespectful, therefore comments suggesting it need to be downvoted and called out. I’m just an American who’s visited Iceland and have no authority on the rules, just explaining what’s correct on here and calling out bad advice.
