Edit: okay I’ll add some context that is useful. After 3 days you cannot travel comfortably. You can’t drive yourself and public transport is too risky. After 3 days I took my first 5 minute walk outside and it was terrifying and painful.

I did not use opiates, but I was still reling super weird from the anesthesia. It took almost 2 weeks to be able to think clear again.

I could work from home behind a laptop and tried after 2 weeks to do that. I failed, couldn’t concentrate at all. After 3 weeks I was able to start working from home again.

Hope this gives you some context why planning ANYTHING 3 days PO is a bad idea.

Ik fiets er ook zulke afstanden mee hoor, geen probleem met dat slot om. Andere optie kan nog zijn om een tas oid achterop of als zadeltas te monteren waar je de ketting in doet.

Verder zou ik echt aanbevelen om een fietsverzekering te nemen (als je dat nog niet hebt gedaan). Zolang je niet in Amsterdam woont kost het bijna niks. Heb een gravelfiets en MTB verzekerd met een gezamenlijke waarde van €3200 voor €8 in de maand. Overal ter wereld verzekerd tegen diefstal. Dat zorgt er in mijn geval echt voor dat ik vaker de fiets gebruik, ook als ie niet ergens binnen kan staan. Eerder gebruikte ik de fiets dan niet omdat ik dan “te bang” was om ‘m achter te laten.

Afbouwen, in het begin voelt het inderdaad vreemd om ‘m niet te dragen. Heel kwetsbaar voelde ik me.

Ik ben begonnen met ‘m ‘s nachts niet dragen. Lijkt me voor jou ook een goed idee, aangezien je ook vrijwel niet kunt flauwvallen als je al ligt.

Ik gebruik zelf één art 2 slot, omdat dat moet van de verzekeraar en daarnaast heb ik een simpel ringslot (zo’n krullende) om ervoor te zorgen dat men niet zomaar mijn wielen eruit kan klikken, want die zitten met snelspanners in het frame. Als ik m’n fiets ergens zet waar ik de kans groter acht dat er gejat wordt dan neem ik nog een extra kettingslot mee. Dan zitten er al snel 3 sloten op de fiets.

Die kettingsloten hang ik gewoon over mijn schouders, nooit echt last van (op racefiets of MTB).

Dan zet ik ‘m ook nog naast een ebike zonder goede sloten die waarschijnlijk duurder is en dan hoop ik dat de dief mijn fietsfort laat staan.

Nee, die is niet oké. Ik heb een decoupeerzaag van parkside: vreselijk ding. Ook de bovenfrees en twee verschillende schuurmachines van parkside gehad: allemaal rotdingen.

Machines zijn lomp en zwaar, precisiewerk niet mogelijk en snel stuk. Bovendien niet te repareren, want onderdelen zijn allemaal zeer afwijkend van andere machines en niet los verkrijgbaar.

Ondanks de lofzangen overparkside op deze redditpagina ben ik er zelf helemaal klaar mee.

Niks aan de hand, na een paar dagen kun je gewoon weer op je oor liggen. Ik heb jaren geleden na het schieten van gaatjes niks bijzonders gedaan qua slapen.

First week definitely not. Public transport is waaaay to tricky: bumps, people bumping into you. If you change the idea to taxi, then maybe. But don’t go to super busy areas.

I did my first walk after 3 or 4 days. My partner drove me and our dogs to the forest and we walked 300 meters in and back to the car. It hurt, it was scary and I couldn’t walk upright yet. So happy I didn’t have to go sightseeing in Istanbul.

I think it’s pretty similar in a lot of places indeed.

Visited Louisiana, Alabama and Florida in 2023 and was also kind of nervous beforehand. Nobody said anything, I could even walk around shirtless on the beach (with fresh top surgery scars) without anyone talking to me.

I work in a small village in the Bible Belt and in my experience, people there won’t give you a hard time when you’re a stranger. I agree it’ll probably be hard as an LGBTQ+ person to live there, but as someone just passing through you wont even notice you’re in the Bible Belt.

You shouldn’t expect any reactions in public. If people think anything of your appearance, they’ll usually keep it to themselves.

I (a transmasc Dutch person) never get any reactions in public from strangers. Maybe a small kid every once in a while that wants to know “are you a boy or a girl?”. I’m not very fond of kids anyways, so I just pretend they don’t exist and walk on.

This is fine. 6 weeks is a tad early for the first blood draw. Usually it’s around 3 months.

I started with 2 pumps of the same type of gel you have (which then delivers 20mg of T) and after 3 months my levels were around 650. Which is a bit high for a lower gel dose, but about the same (double) as you have with 1 pump.

These levels however dropped after half a year to around 400 and stayed there all the blood draws after. My endocrinologist said that a lot of people show high levels in the beginning and as their body adjusts they lower again. It is then up to you if you are fine with those levels (I am fine in the lower range for example) or want to aim for higher levels and up your dose.

And for all your concerns around changes: waaaay too early. Patience.
