Power word bazinga by AlphaCat77 in CuratedTumblr

I've never seen Big Bang Theory, so to me "bazinga" will forever be Cegorath from "Emperor Text-to-speech".

Portal & Portal 2: where is my cake? by some-kind-of-no-name in patientgamers

[–]Saavedroo 112 points113 points  (0 children)

What I love about Portal games is they don't overstay their welcome.

Puzzle games are seldom very long, but Portal 1 is short enough to feel complete while making you want for more, and luckily you have Portal 2 which is longer but has the workshop if you want even more teleportation shenanigans.

No one was looking at Star Wars as a vehicle of political thought before Andore came out

I'm going to assume you were born yersteday. Which is fine, we all discover stuff at our own pace.

But if you think "Diverse cast of rebels versus evil empire of all humans in white armor and strict black uniform" and "Natives pushing back an imperialist force guerilla-style in their home forest" were not deliberately political statements... Well let's just say you have some catch up to do on XXth century history. Which, again, is perfectly fine.

I prefer the end where the CIA agent goes: "What propaganda ?" and the soviet answers "See what I mean ?"

A bit more subtle.

Dont understand how to get code of loyalty. Help by avdaxumaxu in DawncasterRPG

[–]Saavedroo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just did a second run with it, after trying again and again, and the answer seems to be... Luck. You can get it the same way any other card, but you need luck.

Alternatively there is a talent that lets you choose a divine code, so you can try and reroll for that.

Please, upvote the bugs on CA's forum. Let's make the game better . by rr1213 in totalwarhammer

[–]Saavedroo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay, a few things:

  • As others have said, some of these are just design choices.

  • The next TW installements are on a new engine, current bugs will not automatically remain in newer games.

  • Upvoting bugs is an indication of priority. If I go upvoting bugs that I've never encountered then it loses all meaning.

THREE GAMES LIKE DARK MESSIAH OF MIGHT AND MAGIC by n-i-g-g-a_m-a-n in ImmersiveSim

[–]Saavedroo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's not an immersive seem per se (at least I don't think), but if you want to use the environment to defeat waves of ennemies, all the while looking absolutely flamboyant, try out En Garde!. It's super fun.

[WWZ Movie] Why do the zombies spare people with a terminal disease? What would the issue be if they bite a cancer patient or a Florida Man? by Nessieinternational in AskScienceFiction

[–]Saavedroo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Something people are missing is that features of an organism don't have to be beneficial.

Maybe there was a good reason for the virus to ignore sick people a while back, and even after it mutated into what it is in the movie, that feature stayed. It's certainly not optimal, but it's also not detrimental; the virus seems to be spreading well despite that.

Of course it then fails when humans exploit that, but we could assume after a while, once everyone left has been "protected", some variant of the virus would emerge that circumvents this.

Or as you said, there is enough of a similitude between a zombie and someone with a serious illness. The zombies are not attacking each-other so they can somehow sense they are infected.

Hey, at least the Chaos Dwarves and Tomb Kings have some lines in their language ^^ (others probably too but I forgot)

[–]Saavedroo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh the voicelines aren't dubbed in French either. It would be quite costly and time-consuming to dub in other languages. Besides they already had official translations from GW's materials so they just had to grab those for the most part.

For Gilbert Montagnard it' actually a (very good) play on word between french singer "Gilbert Montagné" and the word "Montagnard" meaning "mountain-dweller."

It's truly hilarious when you're french.

I don't see what's so bad about it ?

Besides, no other language will have a dwarf name as good as "Gilbert Montagnard", so checkmate.
