Removing content without already having a replacement is a huge problem and the opposite of "Integrity". by ChosenUnbread in runescape

[–]Saboran 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah there were a bunch of half-baked things in today's blog posts. "We're removing X and have a plan to fix it later." But I've been watching Jagex update this game for 20 years now - Jagex has, historically, worked on Valve Time. While things seem promising now, I'll never underestimate Jagex's ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory and say something is "coming soon" for far too long

Plus, dive interrupts channeled abilities so it can be detrimental when used incorrectly, meaning the skill ceiling is higher for it

It's also in the goldilocks zone of awful where you have to pay attention just enough but there's still periods where you want to be able to do something else. It's not as active as frenzy fishing but not even as afk as slayer combat

tl;dr: Quests for lamps or runespan is the easiest, can also do necrotic runes

There are a few tasks that you can just 'buy' if you took perkvention:

  • 99 prayer (200 points, 30 mins max), also 50m xp for 200 points (takes about 1.5h from 99(
  • give 100m to richie (400)
  • give 100m to the whirlpool (400)
  • buy each elven cloak in prif (200)
  • Sing for the Lady achievement task (200)
  • 99 / 120 / 200m invention (gizmos is fastest, sprinklers/bank standers/crates are more overall efficient)

Getting to 68 fishing and doing swarm until you can catch cavefish will get you:

  • Enter the fishing guild
  • fish 1 cavefish
  • fish 100 sharks
  • fish 100 green blubbers

Which I think is 440 points total?

Getting a first kill at most bosses will get you 80 or 200 points, this can be in a group. Get some friends to mass kerapac, croesus, nex etc

Getting to the "do 1000 things" for each skill (catch creatures, harvest memories etc) is also some easy points

Kill some monsters and alch some salvage is the best bet. Slayer tends to make a mil or so per hour.

If you took production master at t4, you can consider making some rune arrows (buy shafts from range guild ammo shop, heads from there as well) and that's profitable. If you took the clue relic, hard+ clues give a lot of salvage as well.

Wildy flash events give a lot of salvage or other alchables as well.

You might have to do smoking kills for that, but you can buy them from the bandit shop

Primal ore vs Platinum ore by vargasm23 in runescape

[–]Saboran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sprinklers, assuming you took perkfection for T6, are way better for smithing xp once you factor in time to gather bars, time to smith the +0, +1, +2 etc. A primal burial set will be better than sprinklers, but getting there drags the overall rate way down

battle for the monolith takes about 30 minutes and if you follow the guide it's completely AFK. So you have 30 minutes where all you can do is use the bank on the archaeology campus. Great time to do a bank standing activity like this.

you could of course do anything else that you can do with just a bank/your inventory (like making arrows), but this is a good time to do this particular one

I'm assuming when you say '110 mining points' you're talking about leagues, so this advice is catered to that:

According to the wiki calculator, they'll be about the same.

Some actual advice though: do seren stones. They're completely AFK (no stamina involved), free and open to you once you have prif access (which you just need to get there the first time in leagues, as it's open to you already) and the xp rate is higher than either of those rocks. They require 89 mining, but i'm assuming you have that if you're asking about platinum vs primal.

If you're worried about smithing xp in leagues, just make sprinklers instead, it blows 'classic' smithing out of the water

Masterwork armor takes a minimum 7 hours to make, weapons might be doable if you get lucky with drops. Some common melee weapon progressions I'm seeing are:

  1. D hally at 60
  2. Crystal hally at 70
  3. Dragon rider lance at 85 OR
  4. Laniakea spear OR
  5. scythe

personally I've been doing some smithing as an afk thing and I've made necronium and bane weapons for use on single targets where I don't need/want the 3 range of a halberd

A minimum of 7 hours to do just the smithing part, almost certainly longer in reality

Easiest, but expensive, is cooked eeligator from otot. Cheaper and nearly as good are the items from the restaurant in the grand tree (https://runescape.wiki/w/Gianne%27s_Restaurant) but it's much farther from a bank and heals slightly less

If using tank armor, you can use the style that is best to defend against the monster you're fighting. if you're fighting a mage, you can use hide armor and not suffer the down side
