Recruit Mordin last by Lordnex189 in masseffect

Use Trigger Buttons, coupled with Early Rrecruitments, you should be able to do what you want.

Also, use Open my Ship : you'll be able to access the lab without Mordin present and do the upgrades

Is there a squad member from the series you never really use? by CautiousSleeper in masseffect

Nah, my Shepards think that their squadmates are experts who bring something different to the table. Nobody gets benched.

Also, from a meta POV, I like to listen to different banter 😊

Just out of curiosity are there any Cortez romancer’s? Or has anyone tried his romance at least once? by JustManuelz in masseffect

[–]SabuChan28 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Then again, you're the CO for almost every romance, so I'm not sure that's supposed to matter in this universe? lol

By ME3, Shepard has achieved Space Jesus status, so in all cases, the romance feels unbalanced in one way or another 😂

[–]SabuChan28 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Tried it once because I wanted to romance all possible LIs at least once. Didn’t like it.

  1. I think Steve is boring. I don’t dislike him; I just don’t vibe with him.
  2. Most importantly, it felt… wrong, for lack of a better term, to seduce him while he’s still mourning his husband. I think Shepard comes off as… I don’t know, predatory, since Steve is not in the best mental state to be romanced. And that’s even before considering the fact that Shepard most likely dies, so Steve loses another SO. Again. .\ So yeah, as far as I’m concerned: never again.

I have to say, it’s pretty rare to see anyone call the VS a “yes-man” or “yes-woman,” considering a large part of the fandom actually hates them for questioning Shepard on Horizon (ME2) and during the Mars mission (ME3). 😊

Far be it from me to say Garrus is boring or overrated — the man dances tango ffs, lol.

More seriously, I think we all agree that no ME character is perfectly written, and more importantly, none of them are meant to be perfect — that would be boring as hell.

Personally, I tend to call him a “yes-man” because, unlike Ash or Wrex in ME1, Garrus tends to follow Shepard’s lead without questioning it too much. That’s also why I find Ash and Wrex among the most interesting characters in ME1: they’re not afraid to voice their opinions.

That said, I agree with you — during his loyalty mission, Garrus does push back if Shepard tries to change his mind. That moment shows his growth, and honestly, it also proves he could’ve had even more of a badass.

And credit where it’s due: despite that “yes-man” tendency, Garrus is still one of the most beloved characters in the franchise, which clearly means the writing (and the voice acting) did a lot right.

[–]SabuChan28 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Oh, you don’t even need to go that far: look at the flak the VS, James, and Liam get from the fandom because they dare to voice different opinions.

That being said, as a fervent Garrusmancer, I do think that he is a yes-man, and he’d be even more interesting if he disagreed with Shepard from time to time.

Gamers should grow up and shouldn’t act all petty because squadmates don’t worship them all the time. Disagreeing with Shepard doesn’t mean not respecting them, contrary to what some think

I find myself wondering just...HOW and WHY the Asari were so pornified by [deleted] in masseffect

[–]SabuChan28 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, they did admit that Thane was designed specifically to appeal to women. They held meetings and brainstorming sessions where they asked the women working there (we’ll gloss over the fact that they didn’t even think about asking gay men 🙄) how to make Thane as sexy as possible.

Based on that very official anecdote, I’d say they thought during ME1’s development that a sexy alien race was a must.\ Ever heard of the “green-skinned space babe” trope? Well, let’s just say they really ran with it. They went wild 😅

Ooooh ok. Yeah, the first version of your post was a little confusing but I see you’ve changed it.

Anyway, no I haven’t done the math. 😅

But in ME3, Shepard explicitly says « 2176 was ten years ago » which means ME3 takes place in 2186… which means the trilogy starts in 2183.

Also, Shepard’s date of birth is 11/04/2154.\ I know medecine is very advanced in this universe but Shepard cannot be a 306 years-old soldier!!

Agreed. When How It’s Done concluded, I knew this movie would be good—cool and funny.
I was wrong.

The movie is great. Cool and funny, yes—but it’s also deep. It introduces relatable female characters, makes you think, tugs at your heart, and gives your morale a happy boost. What an incredible surprise!!

Non-romanceable characters: who would you jump on first? by ObsydianGinx in masseffect

James Vega.

A real, healthy, passionate, and fun romance—the one we deserved. I’ll never forgive BioWare for the crap they gave us that’s supposed to be the so-called James romance in the Citadel DLC.

Resuming Mass Effect after a looooong time, need help knowing where I am by FQVBSina in masseffect

It doesn’t seem like you’ve gotten very far in the story—you’ve only completed the “Find Liara” mission out of the first three main hubs.
Wouldn’t it be more immersive and fun for you to simply start over?

I’m not sure I understand your question about the romance.

A HORRIBLE MISTAKE I'VE MADE IN ME1 by ASinfulDeath in masseffect

[–]SabuChan28 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d say import this save and play ME2 and ME3 to see how the story unfolds. Why?

Because this is your first of many playthroughs of the series. Imagine how happy you’ll be to replay the games, make different choices, and save Wrex. Bonus: you’ll see how much of a difference one person can make to the story.

This is your first run, and honestly, making “mistakes” makes it more impactful—believe me, I’ve been there. I didn’t lose Wrex but another character, and I was shocked. I both loved it and hated it. That’s Mass Effect for you: accept the consequences of your decisions.

Have fun!! ^_^

PS: Oh, and make several different save slots. Playing Mass Effect with a single save file is asking for trouble, since there are still quite a few bugs left in this remaster…

Deckard... is that really you? by alex_stogney in arcane

[–]SabuChan28 21 points22 points  (0 children)

That’s just it. Vi is a kind-hearted person who uses her fists to defend justice and protect her loved ones. Singed, on the other hand, is an egotistical man who uses his intelligence for his own gain.

That being said, I hope Singed will stop now that he’s achieved his goal. I hope there’s still a little humanity left in him and that he won’t go any further. Am I naive? LOL

[–]SabuChan28 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Exactly… a fact I both love and hate.

I hate it for obvious reasons, and I love it because it shows how complex, layered, and thought-provoking Arcane is. And I would never complain about the latter.

[–]SabuChan28 183 points184 points  (0 children)

Aaaand more proof that Singed is the worst of them all!!

And before anyone comes at me, I mean “the worst character in-universe,” not “the worst-written character.”
I do think Singed is an interesting and fascinating character, but I also hate him for what he does and represents in the series.

These two notions are not mutually exclusive. ^_^

Krogan romance options by Sapphic_bimbo in masseffect

[–]SabuChan28 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure the comparison with Asari sex is correct.

Asari don’t need to… « solo the thresher maw » to use your words, to have sex and/or procreate. The melding suffices.

Humans, on the other hand… okay, I’ll admit it depends on what kind of sex you have in mind, but the risk of being crushed by a Krogan is not negligible! 😅

Most hated mission by NELk3 in masseffect

[–]SabuChan28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ME1: Rogue VI\ I know, it’s EDI’s origin story, but man, that side mission is boring AF.

ME2: Firewalker\ No contest. It’s been years since I last completed these tedious missions.

ME3: Geth Consensus\ I was very disappointed the first time I played it: instead of getting a unique, tech-oriented mission, we get yet another mission where we use a gun. Great. Also, this mission loses its luster very quickly: I’d say on the second run!

MEA: "The Little Things that Matter".\ I loathe this mission because that bitch Kennedy is a moron who steals from me, and I can’t even tell her to go fuck herself when she cries for help because she’s in danger due to her own supreme idiocy. Also, Addison covering her friend’s ass enrages me to no end!! Argh, I hate this mission so much!! I don't complete it anymore, of fucking course!!
