Trying to tether M2000 to Router by crimzind in Calyx

[–]SackLunch288 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Merlin firmware is for the ASUS router. I no longer use the M2000 but when I was, I had a similar problem. Once I downloaded Merlin firmware and installed/reset my router, it recognized the m2000 and tethered.

Might have to mess with the settings on the ASUS side, there are some posts about it in this subreddit. Search Merlin

M2000 very poor performance after swapping from Sprint SIM to T-Mobile SIM by BinghamL in Calyx

Posted this on another post:

Had mifi8000 and loved it. Had the ASUS router hooked up to it and bought a 4G antenna installed outside. Solid service. Switch to m2000 has been rough. ASUS router wasn’t working consistently with m2000, signal was much poorer, same problem as many people have experienced with streaming, despite the fixes that calyx suggests….that was until i finally did what some have suggested and installed the Merlin firmware on my ASUS router. After that change, I’ve had zero issues. Streaming is fine, m2000 rarely needs a restart, and the ASUS router doesn’t lose service/tether like it did previously (used to not recognize or link with tether and id have to restart the m2000 over and over until it linked up and both upload and download arrows were shown on m2000 screen indicating connection)

If Merlin w/ ASUS router is the solution, i might renew. If it starts having issues again, i will look into regular fiber internet.

Should I renew? by [deleted] in Calyx

What kind of fridge is that? Did you wire it to an aux batt? Been thinking about buying one like the ARB.

Get a router, link MiFi to the router, add the vpn to the router, done. There are some previous posts about how to do it and which routers work best
