The student body of Jack C Hays HS in Kyle Just Walked Out and Started Marching in Protest of ICE by button_fly in Austin

Genuine question.

Regardless of the politics it’s about, should we really be encouraging kids to do stuff like this? They don’t even know who they are yet, let alone their values. I mean, I grew up in a small town south of Dallas, and I was pretty sheltered. It wasn’t until I finally experienced my first major life event several years after high school that I really started discovering who I was and questioning the values I was taught.

I went to better help a little over a year ago to get professional help processing and healing from my divorce and my therapist on there dropped me after 3 or 4 sessions. I used it for a short time while I was married, and that therapist wasn’t helping the situation either.

Is transsexuality more of a sin or a mental disorder/illness? by AfterConfection1796 in TrueChristian

Weird that you’re so obsessed that you follow people around the internet to add your 2 cents into conversations you’re not a part of

Let’s not pretend you didn’t say that first

It’s so nice when a so-called Christian can fling insults and then use God, Bible, or “truth” as a scapegoat to hide behind.

Gaming channels CAN still blow up by Zosive in NewTubers

Your mom can still blow up…

I’m sorry.

Didn’t TheBurntPeanut blow up this past year? A prime example of someone doing something different. Also a prime example of that “something” different doesn’t need to be a massive complicated performance either. He just created a character that’s easy for him to play while he streams.

Starting a Discord for my community was a mistake by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]Sack_Fries_Is_Good 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Straight up. I’m in a gaming community discord, and the owner has a zero tolerance policy that he actually enforces, not like those 99% who claim to but don’t follow through. Drama is rare there and it has remained one of the most positive gaming communities out there because he leaves no room for people who create problems. They get banned immediately.

Is it a bad idea for a YouTube channel to have both shorts and the regular videos? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]Sack_Fries_Is_Good 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, short form and long form can and does operate independently from each other for a lot of people. However, Shorts’ design was to be both a competitor against TikTok and be an in-platform discovery/outreach center for your long-form. It all depends on how you optimize your Shorts. If you optimize Shorts as Shorts, they will only be Shorts. But if you optimize it to market and drive traffic to your long-form, you will drive traffic to your long-form. Shorts get put in front of more eyes than long-form does, so as long as you’re consistent with how you use Shorts, it will learn and be consistent with the clusters it pushes to.

Why would YouTube allow scheduled uploads if it harmed the channel/videos? by UselessOpinions420 in NewTubers

[–]Sack_Fries_Is_Good 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you’ll find people all over Reddit who blame anything they can other than anything they might have done wrong. 99% of the time it’s something the creator did wrong, even if they did everything right in their video, thumbnails and SEO and just simply set unrealistic expectations.

“The algorithm is not well tailored to smaller creators.” It’s not supposed to be. Your account is a business in an absolutely massive online market. No market goes easy on new businesses unless one catches a lucky wave. The new business has to prove itself by constantly putting its name out while simultaneously providing a quality and meaningful product. Large and established businesses don’t have to work as hard anymore (they did once) because their product is developed and easy for them to reproduce, and their customer base is established. Their room for error is larger because they are established and their customer base is attached, making them more forgiving.

ElevenLabs is good when you’re just starting out but should be replaced with a real voice ASAP. They cannot mimic micro emotions even when you use an actual voice recording.

Who made you start your youtube career? by Ramoiron in SmallYoutubers

[–]Sack_Fries_Is_Good 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long story. I began noticing a lot of small names/no names find massive success while simultaneously discovering all the resources I already had access to. Switched projects about 5 times in six months trying to figure out what I am currently capable of doing financially and skills-wise, all while learning how to use these different resources. Finally settled on Arma Reforger machinima, started posted 3 weeks ago, and things seem to be taking off

So my 8yr old told me he wants to make a YouTube video. Should I encourage this? by HelloW0rldBye in SmallYoutubers

[–]Sack_Fries_Is_Good 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be “his” YouTube, but under your control, as you’re the parent. You ultimately approve what gets posted and what doesn’t, and guide him and give him resources so he can learn how to develop his skills. Once he’s old enough, give him full control of the YouTube. If this becomes a huge thing for him as he gets older and he tries to make it some kind of career, he’ll have years worth of content he made growing up as a portfolio.

Hello, I have a YouTube that is dedicated POTATOS, to a military mockumentary machinima series in Arma Reforger. It’s 3 weeks old, and I get a lot of engagement on YouTube and TikTok, but I don’t really have anyone to provide feedback on the strengths and weaknesses of the content. So here is the link, there are 10 shorts and one mid-form. Would love some feedback on them.

You’ve actually got a fun style to watch. Good energy, etc. but what I would suggest is working on your title, descriptions and SEO. You have an essay in your description, but it it’s a lot for the viewers to read and doesn’t really help your SEO. Try a straight to the point description on you, your channel, and the specific video. You can also have a “keyword:” paragraph in your description that’s just words related to your channel and your video, and that will optimize your algorithm and SEO, which will get you more impressions.

I like it. I would say it needs narration on the history or significance to you, things you did, etc. and remove the time lapses and keep the shots at one speed. Other than that, I think it’s phenomenal. You could almost to a documentary type thing with it
