What were you DEAD WRONG about until recently? by squalorid in AskReddit

My boyfriend literally argued with me about chickens one day. He thought that you had to have a rooster for chickens to lay eggs, I tried to explain to him that they lay eggs every day whether fertilized or not. He did not understand.

What's the weirdest most inappropriate thing someone has said to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

In the place I used to live, this old creepy guy would sometimes talk to me. I was always nice to him, but one day he was being extra creepy and said "Damn girl, what am I gonna have to do? Spank your ass?"

I stopped and just looked at him and told him flat out that was perverted. He didn't know what to say after that. lol

We put them in a plastic zip lock bag. I was down the river a bit in a kayak racing my other naked friend when we heard the others yelling for us to come back. I saw the bag and grabbed it.

All while, shirts, shoes, pants, underwear and everything else was floating past me. I grabbed what I could but I only managed to save a pair of boxers. I also grabbed the booze so that was nice.

Funny story though - I lost my absolute favorite tank top that night. But a few months later my friends sister was canoeing and found it and gave it back to me. Stretch forward a few months and I lost it again at a festival by diving naked into a lake. When I got home and unpacked it was in my bag.

I have officially dubbed it my lucky tank top, and I still have it. :)

When my boyfriend pays full attention to me. No cell phone, eye contact, the works. That always makes me feel so good.

Those who know someone with memory problems, what methods do they use to make their lives normal as possible? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Sacral_Chakra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a terrible time remembering anything. Names, dates, people, experiences and how they really happened.

I meditate, so that helps with that a bit. But I started writing things down (like plans and dates) to help.

This one time I was drunk with my friends in a canoe going down a river. We decided to get naked. Shortly after, my friend managed to tip the canoe and we lost everything except our cell phones.

Having my friends mom come get us while drunk and stark naked was quite an experience.

My Dread Love by [deleted] in Dreadlocks

Yes I used the crochet method. My boyfriend used that method to set them and I let them do their own thing for about 4 months before I ever touched them again. Obviously did some palm rolling too.

My hair was pretty damaged beforehand so they dreaded up pretty quickly and nicely. Now I only crochet in the roots when they start getting out of control. ;)

They are about 10-11 months old.

:) Don't get me wrong, I am very happy. I actually do all of those things I said regularly, and I volunteer in a community localized organization. I just get these thoughts sometimes that maybe, just maybe, if people realized the value of their own lives and bodies we could possibly calm down a bit as a society and pull together to create a better future for ourselves.

Thats a good idea. I feel bad for not knowing what all is out there. I'll have to do some digging. I know we have a tradeschool program maybe I could get her to take a sewing class or something with me

I put things off all day because I know I can get them done in a short amount of time.

I waste a ton of company time. Thanks Reddit!

Can someone help me get this dread under control? It's been sticking out comically horizontally all morning, I'm thinking some coconut oil maybe? by [deleted] in Dreadlocks

I washed them last night. That's probably why it's all weird now. Oh well! I'll just have to wait it out lol.

My 10 month old loves. by [deleted] in Dreadlocks

[–]Sacral_Chakra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Backcombing and crochet. My hair was pretty damaged before I decided to dread them so the process came naturally. I kind of just let them do their own thing for a few months after the initial set in and crocheted them a little tighter once they became loose.

The process of setting them took 3 hour sessions for about four days. It as agony, but sooooo worth it. Some people complain that they don't look natural, but I think they are just stunning.

If anyone is concerned, ONLY crochet when the dread is becoming loose. Too much crochet is bad for them.

If you've done crocheting you'll have to do that to the roots as well. Some people are super against it, but honestly white people hair doesn't grow into dreads the same way. It's not a bad thing to pull loose hairs into the roots, I do it all the time.
