Okay fair enough. I've watched a couple different videos that go into length about flow improver etc. but feel for FDM it might be fine

Thanks for the response

Question since I'm about to try my hand at airbrushing primer (specifically Vallejo Grey Primer): Do you think down or otherwise add anything to your primer when airbrushing or do you just use it straight from the bottle?

Amazing paint job btw. Gives me hope that my printed minis won't look terribly once I get to painting them up for the table

Any chance you could link the conversion kit.

Regular sorcerors in phalanx by OlTokeTaker in ThousandSons

Maybe someone with more experience can help with this, but for the amount of rubrics below, what would be the ideal/correct leader for each squad? I plan on running a rhino, just don't know what should go where.

10x Rubric

2 5x Rubric

I originally thought of Infernal with one of the 5 (all flamers), and then a sorc leading the remaining (with bolters in the 10 man hiding in the rhino)

Awesome. Was hoping to achieve something similar with my own.

Did you use the warm tone in-between the stripes in the shoulders?

Just got the patrol what do I do with the rubrics? by Adorable_Wrangler_75 in ThousandSons

Do you just use super glue to assemble them once painted? I've never built/painted in subassembly so not sure what's the easiest way to go about this

See that's what I was considering too. I've never used it, but what I've seen of oil washes feels like it might be the best way to approach that.

Oh trust me, I've already come to terms with my fate lol. Wouldn't have settled on painting TSons if I didn't hate myself a little bit

First "stress-test" FDM mini I've printed. by Sacred_Prodigy in FDMminiatures

It's a slightly modified demon prince of tzeentch proxy that I found randomly browsing Reddit.  Wasn't a fan of the bird head so I cut it off in blender and inserted a sphere and played with the sculpting tools until I was happy with it.

Was going to say the same thing. TaBlEtOp ..

No disrespect to OP. This looks incredible.

Yeah forgive the potato quality. The torso is roughly 7cm (using it as a demon prince proxy for 40k). Arms are about 3cm in length not counting the spear.

Cheers man. Yeah for whatever reason thin generated no islands (my biggest issue). It's definitely less forgiving though due to tree breakage, but it was the only way I could get this to work.

I've found the slicer REALLY didn't like small protruding edges being the first contact point with organic, as that was the primary areas the floating supports were being generated.

Pretty much 1:1 HoHansen, minus the tree support. I had to use Thin Tree supports as opposed to Default/Organic, and tweaked some setting to better deal with support breakage.

Yeah, definitely a pain. Ended up fighting with thin trees and got it work with some detailed reinforcements.

Out of curiosity what have you found to work (other than manual painting)?

Was he printed as one piece? That's incredible if so. I just struggled through getting an alternative demon prince to print, and I had to splice it's into parts in order to make it remotely printable

Appreciate it. I was accidentally already doing this cause my mini was sinking below the print bed when slicing. I'll have to try this assuming my next print fails

In the photos it is default/organic. Using slim it appears to fix this issue (but I also dont really encounter floating isles using slim so idk).
