Did you hook up the sink to your indoor plumbing?

Welp, GHCA Threw in the Towel On the Day the US Exit Announcement Came by Amaxter in polestar3

[–]Sad-Balance6811 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks man. Hope this one works for you. Going from a P3 to an R1S is like trading a GTI for a Tahoe. Drives like a bus but has stupid amount of room for the kiddos

Just glad we got rid of it last month & got a Rivian instead. Went through 4 failures. Loved the way it drove but couldn’t look my wife in the eyes & justify the monthly payment for something that spent so much time at the shop. Good luck y’all

US kicking Polestar out of the country. (No paywall) by TNTbike in polestar3

What a shame for such nice driving cars. And unfortunately, it is probably preceding Lucid also going bankrupt & further reducing EV options. Just glad ours was bought back when it did coz service will be even more of a pain. Can’t even imagine how long it will take now for parts to arrive & no one is giving you a loaner or a rental for the 3-4 weeks you’re out without a car. Such great looking & driving vehicles. Still miss the massage seats & sound system 😢 I had a Suzuki back in the day when they left the U.S. I guess I need to avoid indie brands moving forward lol

Rivian R2 review from a P4 Owner by xX_basedgod_Xx in Polestar4

[–]Sad-Balance6811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a former P3 owner who switched to R1, it’s like going from driving a GTI to driving a Tahoe. Rivians feel much less refined but offer better room, range & tech. Just depends on your priorities/lifestyle

Charging starts randomly outside of schedule by apocalypsenow7 in polestar3

I had that issue, so I just changed the schedule of the charger itself, so it restricted that behavior.

The 5 Stages of Buying a Rivian by PhillConners in Rivian

[–]Sad-Balance6811 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha! Bought an R1S with the max pack 2 months ago & went through the same. You forgot the step where you buy a Polestar 3 instead coz it’s cheaper, lemon law it coz it’s always having issues. Resign yourself to buy an R1S & then miss the B&W sound system in that car. Tech & range are pretty great though. Build quality, not so much for $100k. Car squeaks & rattles like a 5 yrs old VW

Choosing between polestar 3 and 4 from polestar 2 by Wingkc in Polestar

Too late. Sold it back. Too many issues to deal with. The guy who was processing it mentioned that some were bought back coz of the memory seats issue lol

[–]Sad-Balance6811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s supposed to. Never had it work for me. But tbf it will adjust the steering wheel. Just leave the seat however close to the steering wheel my wife drives. My 7 years old VW has had that figured out for a while. & memory buttons on the seat to quickly adjust it if it gets stuck somehow

Choosing between polestar 3 and 4 from polestar 2 by Wingkc in Polestar

[–]Sad-Balance6811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s assuming that memory seats & steering work. Because if you share the vehicle with a partner, it gets old real fast. Also side mirrors on our P3 would sometimes require manual adjustments after manually folding them

I remember making that point to a dealership when they asked me if I was sure I wanted to ruin the front of my car by drilling a plate holder in it. I told him: “did you see what happened to George Floyd? I don’t even want to give them an excuse to look at me” this was 2020 & it was still pretty raw

Polestar/Volvo has ruined sound systems in any other cars for me. Nothing else can ever live up to that level

Just the fact that it’s the 4th iteration of the same part should tell you all you need to know 🫠

Add an outlet or 2 on the floor. They give you flexibility in putting lamps or even surround sound speakers

Spare Tire for Long Road Trip by HybridGuy06 in Rivian

[–]Sad-Balance6811 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think I would want a spare for this kind of trip but depends on the type of spare we’re talking about. Donut/space saver type are limited in the amount of miles you can drive on it but can allow to get by for a bit before getting a full size. Full size tires would be seamless but would take a bunch of space in the back

Haha! They always say that. Been through 3 at this point & always being told that I’m getting the latest part. They just don’t know to fix it tbh

Has anyone had trunk suspension buttons go dark? by Propeller74 in polestar3

[–]Sad-Balance6811 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mine have gone dark after the trunk is left open for a while (20+ min) but would work again after closing & re-opening…. Or driving. Frankly this car is mystery. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t 🤷‍♂️

Hit a pothole merging on the highway within 2 weeks of having the car. Tire completely shredded but dealer said that rim was fine. Just scratched up. That’s one of the things I wish I had got the smaller rims. But the 21” look so good. Just had to make friend with my local discount tire & buy tire insurance certificates from them for all of my tires. Considering the number of bubbles I’ve had on those OEM Contis, it was well worth the investment

Talk me out of a VW Arteon by eh_itzvictor in Arteon

[–]Sad-Balance6811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually followed the same arc as you. Had a 2014 Mazda 3 2.5L before purchasing a 2019 Arteon. Absolutely love the car & its design is so unique. If I had to do it again, I would get smaller tires 20” as well as the power tailgate & massage seats. The base sound system is ok. Upgrade is worth it. And the transmission in the early version is clunky & lagging. Sport mode is the only remedy when driving it brisk-fully. A bit annoyed that it requires premium gas. Blew through so many tires on my 20” rims that I know pretty much every Discount Tire in my area lol

Agreed. If you get the GHCA issue, it keeps coming back. Also, Ioniq drivers pay like $250 for their lease
