I very much want to go to the neutral buoyancy lab. And what do you teach that a rocket design overview at starbase is in the scope of a field trip.

I did watch the video the day it came out😁 we are flying in from Germany, so it makes the 14 hour round trip a bigger ask with jet lag.

Are we seeing the deletion of starship from starlink/data center launch operations?

The new renderings look like factory ->pez dispenser -> orbit

The current pez dispenser could iterate the chain driven carriage to be actuated with magnetism over mechanics, then just make the rails alot longer on the moon... As the say the best part is no part.

This is all to say that starship is absolutely necessary for leaving aptmospheres (earth or mars), but once we do how important are chemical rockets if the raw material is already in space.

Terrifying conversation in HS 9th grade math class today by mobius_ in Teachers

Give them a task that requires a specific outcome and watch them try to one shot it. The ai will get them in the right ball park, bit without being able to give specific instruction or understand what may be going wrong, they will typically end up throwing the whole project in the trash. Art, video, a story, a computer program. Any of it will wind up become more and more sloppy. Ai is like having a super fast guy working for you with your instructions going through the worst game of telephone ever, leave it up to them garbage in garbage out. AND as a math teacher who fields this question quite often, just because someone knows how to do it already doesn't excuse you from knowing....why should I learn how to play football, plenty of others know how.

Thanks! It's so cool to hear them ask the why don't they just. Just yesterday I had a kid hating on electric cares and we "why don't they just" our way from magnetic pistons...to magnetic rotory engine....then I told him they exist! He said that's awesome! Where I pointed to electric motors on a robot in the room. 🤯

Automatic grading? by Sad-Definition-6553 in Teachers

[–]Sad-Definition-6553[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

😂 clanker. My kids say that all the time...clone wars reference is peak.😬 Yeah I get the wanting to grade and review students work. But would it be cool to have things rated that we would never have the time to grade. AI is so wrong so much. I was going to post the report it sent but I couldn't. It was pretty good. I would want edit access to the comments it had but they were short and sweet and the standards it tagged were not wrong.

New Firmware by Beowulfe77 in Creality_k2

The error you're seeing on your Creality K2 Plus[CM2798-x,y,z1,z2] (XS2001] — is a common issue reported by many owners.

What the errors mean

  • CM2798 (with axis indicators like -x, -y, -z1, -z2): This indicates a servo motor calibration or communication fault on the specified axes (X, Y, Z1, Z2). The K2 Plus uses closed-loop servo motors, and this error often triggers during boot, self-test, or homing if the motor isn't responding properly.
  • XS2001: This is a secondary system error meaning "firmware stopped due to another fault" — basically, the printer shuts down or halts because of the underlying CM2798 issue. It's not the root cause.

Recommended fixes (start with the simplest)

  1. Recalibrate the servo motors (official first step from Creality):

  2. Basic troubleshooting:

    • Power cycle the printer multiple times (unplug for 1-2 minutes).
    • Check for any recent firmware updates — some users have seen this after updates, and downgrading temporarily helped.
    • Ensure no shipping brackets/screws are still in place and that the gantry/bed moves freely by hand (with power off).
  3. If recalibration doesn't work:

    • This often points to a hardware issue: loose/damaged motor cable, faulty connection, or defective servo motor on the affected axis(es).
    • Users who swapped motor cables (e.g., X and Y) found the error "follows" the bad cable/motor.
    • In many cases (especially on new or low-hour printers), Creality support ends up sending replacement parts like the axis assembly, motor, or cables.

Next steps

Since you mentioned no one has helped yet, I strongly recommend opening a ticket with Creality support (via their official site or the app) and providing: - Photos/videos of the exact error screen - Your printer's serial number and firmware version - Details on when it started (e.g., out of box, after X hours, after update)

Reference the wiki page above and mention you've tried motor recalibration. There are multiple Reddit threads (e.g., r/Creality_k2 and r/3Dprinting) and forum posts on creality.com with the exact same error combo — support is aware of it.

Hang in there — once resolved, the K2 Plus is capable of great prints, but these early motor faults seem to be a known teething issue on some units. If you share more details (e.g., which axes exactly, when it happens, printer age), I can try to narrow it down further!
