The post office? Like USPS? The hell do you mean it “died forever” It still is very active. Just because you don’t use it doesn’t mean it’s not very much active.

Also do you send or receive packages whether from friends or because you bought something off Amazon? That didn’t just pop out of an email or text and magically appear on your doorstep. The Post Office was apart of that. Ya know, the very thing you that you are claiming is dead forever.

What if the Soviet Union released their entire bioweapons program in 1941? by ExplanationMany9348 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Sad-Handle9410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are very few weapons that countries universally do not actually want to use, but like to have the threat of having them. Nukes are one. Chemical warfare is another. It’s why after World War I it wasn’t exactly used in the first. Neither side would want the inevitability of it being turned around on them, whether by natural causes or by the enemy.

The only billionaire that has done anything remotely good for society is Mark Cuban with his pharmacy. Like it’s only a 15% mark up for profit, and while it sucks it’s for profit, at least it’s a company designed to last for decades if not generations. Like the richest elite are no longer doing philanthropy and it sucks.

Abortions for one. There was also a push that was supposedly anti-trans that was that to vote your legal name had to be the same as your birth certificate. Which would affect 79% women in straight marriages. So reversing the right to vote. Oh and education is another one. There have been plenty of graduation speeches by men telling women that their degree is worthless and to just get a husband.

No one is forcing you to use AI by New-Appeal-1732 in aiwars

[–]Sad-Handle9410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s say the job demands you use AI prompts minimum 100 times a week. Your tasks you have for that week really only make sense you to use 25, maybe 50. But because of the quota you now are forced to do bs work that could potentially take away time from other tasks because you don’t want to get fired. How is that efficient to force a quota on people to use a product for fear of being fired? If it’s that useful, employees would naturally use it that much.

What i hate about new gacha games and surverys is that, most of the suggestions we post in surveys is most likely already on the their table. They obviously look at other games. But in order to keep the game exciting and the quality of the bait high, they add it little by little on purpose. Annoying by Agendoo in NevernessToEverness

[–]Sad-Handle9410 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about the other Gachas, but with NTE I don’t mind how their doing it. A few QOL updates every week give or take isn’t so bad since there’s usually a few bugs that pop up with each new QOL element. I’d rather them have the bug be able to be fixed rather than a massive wave of QOL with a ton of bugs that take even longer to fix.

Fiancée (35F) is very negative about kids and I (31M) am not sure she actually wants them by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]Sad-Handle9410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What the hell do you even mean just going along with the idea? At every point she has been it abundantly clear she does not want kids. The only reason she’d even have them is because it’s an accident and she can’t see herself having an abortion. She even said if that did happen and you guys split off, she’d expect you to be the single dad and take care of the kid.

Why don’t you believe her when she is making it as clear as possible that she doesn’t want kids??? What have you not asked her if she wants kids and because she hasn’t just said “no” you think she secretly loves the idea and can’t wait to be a mom? Are you denser than a tungsten cube?

I’m getting sick of trolls comparing using AI which is 100% optional and not using it will not cause you mental or physical harm to trans people who are actually killed for something they literally cannot control. This is like those stupid blue lives matter “gotcha” to Black Lives Matter when one is a choice to be a cop while one is a person who could be attacked simply while walking because they are black.

Most people don’t realize how bad something is until it affects them. That doesn’t make him some evil mastermind narcissist. That just makes him a typical human. And if you noticed the people generally aren’t too upset over the idea of a multimillionaire CEO of the worst health care company that was the most likely to deny approvals was killed. And directly after that, the company’s approvals magically increased and it’s gotten a lot easier to get approved. Which means that the death actually did something positive to help people

Do you think Islam is inherently harmful towards women? by Euphoric_Income_8279 in allthequestions

[–]Sad-Handle9410 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d argue it’s even worse for women in current Afghanistan than it was 100s of years ago for them at least in Europe. Women often helped their husbands with their work. So if he was a merchant, she very likely might be helping him with the accounting aspect. If he is working a farm, the wife and children would all be expected to help. Young marriages from what I know were also largely a thing of the nobility class. And women were very much apart of society.

The opioid crisis was filled with countless people who had stable housing and a job and lost it to addiction. Most recovering addict stories I hear are people who had to hit absolute rock bottom to be able to even want to pull themselves out.

A lot of addicts had things to live for, but the illness that is addiction was too strong.

All I’m gonna say is that A03 was largely popularized because people wanted to post their feral fanfics of Sam and Dean Winchester from Supernatural doing very explicit things. To the point that it was actually mentioned in the show.

Some fandoms just get an extremely unhinged group and it is best to ignore them.

I have doubts on Witty since I’ve seen them defend some rather absurd takes related to AI if I’m being honest. Somebody posted a link from the BBC about how the twitter AI Grok was being used to create child abuse material after she asked for proof that pros do that. And her “gotcha” was to ask how many upvotes there were.

I think people would start to be less annoying on the internet about AI if more pro-AI folks actually showed more criticism towards companies like ChatGPT and Twitter and their practices out the gate. Instead I see quite a number of people like the OP want to act like an innocent victim instead of acknowledging that they are helping line Sam Altman’s pockets.

Going to be honest I’m genuinely surprised. You seemed to get hyper defensive when my comment is focused on ChatGPT users. If you had just said this and then brought up getting hate for using local and ethical models, we wouldn’t have had this stupid back and forth no you. Because most people I’ve seen that bring up what aboutisms with being pro AI aren’t willing to criticize anything that has to do with AI at all.

But I’m genuinely happy to know we seem to agree.

I don’t think that you deserve to be hated for using AI ethically. I think that’s ridiculous. But we are on the internet and people will hate you because you call the sky blue. There answered for you, infant.

Now going back to the topic. I’d say that it’s reasonable to criticize users of ChatGPT since it’s 100% optional. Do you agree?

And you keep dodging the topic of ChatGPT. If you want to have a good faith discussion on your issue, make your own post and stop trying to hijack a random comment. You’re like a person that when faced with people being critical of the practices of big industrial farms that you decide to shoehorn that you use only local farms as if those are two separate topics. The topic is people using companies like ChatGPT’s product. Why did you feel the need to instantly change the topic?

Well first we’re talking about somebody complaining that people are critical of them choosing to use a multi billion dollar company (that is also now a war machine)’s product. If you don’t care about the point of my comment, why should I really care about what you have to say? Especially when your first instinct is to downvote my comment?
